One of the best rules of thumb for checking out those types of sites is does it mention the car name more than 3 times in the description.
These are simply a variable resistor that goes on some sensor wire to modify the sensor signal to the computer. The idea is that the computer then changes the outputs to compensate for the input signal.
The problem with that idea is that the computer is monitoring a bunch of sensors, and they all have to basically agree within ranges specified by the computer. Once you exceed the expected range of the sensor, it sets a check engine light. If you have 4 sensor inputs that are specifying certain things, and one sensor that is at a different point in the range than expected, the computer can compensate for a sensor that it thinks is sliding out of range and slew the values in the computer to compensate. You might get an engine to go rich/lean for a short time, but drive it long enough and it just learns the new range of the sensor.
These things are snake oil. Just check out the English usage on the site.

almost as bad as the chips listed on Ebay that claim 130 HP and 40MPG or even better 200 more HP and 75MPG i laugh every time i see them.
i always contact them and ask for proof of their claim.

Notice how the same "device" which gives 50HP on the Challenger, also gives 50HP on the Kia as well. I think it's pure magic myself.
The magic part is where the $79-89 disappears out of your pocket and appears in his pocket....
Variations of this scam are ongoing... :shakehead:
