I was on my way to work this morning and at a stoplight just before an overpass to the highway, I approached and noticed that the two right lanes were occupied (many of you may be like me and go for a front spot at a stop light so others don't slow you down when the light turns green).
Anyway, it is about an eighth of a mile from that light where I need to turn right. That is usually not an issue, I just give it a little gas, pass the cars on my right and then make my turn.
Today the guy on my immediate right in some sort of Buick must have anticipated that I was going to get past him and the car on his right once the light turned green.
When the light turned green, I gave it about half throttle and noticed that I was not clearing the Buick as quickly as expected. This guy was determined to not let me pass! I punched it and it was no contest, but by the time I changed to the lane in front of him, traffic was such that I could not get into the far right lane safely and make my usual right turn at the next light.
I continued straight as this was an alternate route to work--and made sure he was going to stay behind me. I do not consider this a kill since he had a four-door Buick, but it should have taught him a lesson for the next time he has a Challenger by his side.
