Just wondering how many people are planning on attending the Mopar Nats this year in Columbus, OH? Any interest in arranging a meet & greet somewhere? I was thinking maybe meeting on Brice Rd one of the nights. Lot's of people cruising in their Mopars, and a good time to see nice cars and meet new people!

From what I've been told Main St in Heath has been the Hot place to go. I've never gone out there since I live about 3 mi from Brice. I'll be at Brice for sure!!

Heath Road is the place to go local LEO's are more tolerant of the fun stuff your best off leaving right after the show to get a good spot and bring your chairs. The water burnouts are pretty good also

Where is this Heath Road? I've never heard of it, but it sounds like it might be worth checking out. I'll probably hit Brice Rd on Friday night, but wouldn't be opposed to checking someplace else out for Saturday night.

Anyone with directions to Heath Rd??

I will be on Brice Rd Friday night. I'll either be parked in the bank parking lot right next to Popeye's Chicken, or across the road by Burger King. Look for my PCP Challenger and stop by and say hi!! There will probably be a orange '70 Roadrunner and a red '69 Roadrunner sitthing there as well.

Maybe we can arrange to hit this Heath Rd the next night.

Yeah, I'll be there in the Orange SRT w/Carbon strobe stripes. 10min from my house..so it's a no brain-er for me. Heath rd. sounds good too. I should have my Corsa EXtreme and high flow cats by then.

Have never been to this event. My wife and I will be coming this year.

Well, hopefully we'll see you there! Come join us Friday night on Brice Rd if you get a chance! You'll love the show! Nothing but sweet old Mopars everywhere you look! If you get tired of walking to see all of them, you can sit in the stands and watch people run their cars down the track.

I go every year, already ordered my tickets online, brice road is a blast, but for the last 3 years weve been going to heath, got our room reserved there its hard to belive but heath is more happening then brice road, especially on sat. Night, from the nationals go east on us 40 about 5 miles, then north on 79 about 7 or 8 miles and your in heath, its only about a 15 min drive, go once and youll be there every year !

Hey Hemi,

Any suggestions on where to stay in Heath. I'd be up for checking that out. My buddies and I go every year and we've been wondering if there's a new place people are going other than Brice Rd. I'd just get a room out that way.

The last couple years we had room on the north side of Columbus. Still not bad, but Heath wouldn't be any farther from the track.

theres several motels rite on the main strip, hampton, quality, motel 8, ect. and several west of town by the texas road house, weve been staying at the quality on the strip the past 4 years, theres nicer places to stay, but its not bad, and the 2 brothers that own the place are really cool guys, they let em destroy the parking lot all night !

I think alot of people hit brice road on friday, and heath on sat. We use to stay on brice road on fri. And move to heath on sat. But we got tired of moving and the hassel of trying to get a room, so we just stay in heath now !

I tried to get a room in Heath and pretty much everything is booked up. Found a room on the east side of Columbus, so we will stay there. Plans are to hit Brice Rd on Friday night, and we'll check out Heath road on Saturday night.

Watch for us on Brice and we'll see you there. Obviously we'll be in the PCP Challenger! Like I said before... we'll probably be in the bank parking lot right next (south) to Popeye's chicken Friday night on Brice! Hope to see you there!

By the way... been meaning to get ahold of you since we live so close since messaging, but the schedule has just made it tough!

Hey... I just went to the Mopar Nationals website and under Q&A this is listed. So does this mean unless you are an 08 numbered Challenger or have a heavily modified modern Mopar you cannot enter?

What type of Car does the Mopar Nationals Show accept? Car entries are limited to Chrysler and AMC bodied/powered vehicles that are 1990 and older. Newer vehicles that are special editions, performance versions or modified are also welcome. The every day Mini-Van, Jeep or Truck is not considered a show vehicle, and will not be allowed entry at the gate, but will be parked in the spectator parking lots. I am sure you do not want to come to a show and view everyday rides or have one parked next to your show car. Brand X vehicles will not be allowed in the show area, only Brand X Vendor transportation and race car tow vehicles will be allowed entry, but they must be in the race pits or swap meet area only. No parking in Show Areas. Entries of “everyday rides” will be turned down and sent back in the mail.

Any mopar is acceptable in the fun field, theres different classes for different cars !

Heath is hometown for me boys but now live in Lafayette IN. Been doing the Nats since 89 ....call me old school. Route 79 in Heath is the place to be. Brice use to be cool till we got too big and Cowtown (Columbus) itself is to congested. Come to Heath my fellow motorheads. Come out of the track on route 40 go east thru Hebron and you will run right into Route 79. Turn left buckle up and get your cameras ready. No bleach burn outs..... only controlled rubber laying and that is only once you get in Heath on down past the Lowes around the Southgate shopping center or strip mall. Heath police are pretty cool in this area only. Growing up there they were always pricks anywhere....Times change For this event they turn the other way and in past years even participated a little.

Go out to the Mopar Nats website and look at events. They are extending the curse this year on into Newark which is contiguous with Heath and Route 79 down around the courthouse square in Newark because it has gotten so damn big over the years. This might be a great place for us Challenger's to all hook up and then cruse out to Heath and back together. That would blown some minds seeing a bunch of us in a pack. Anybody up for that?

MoparOhio as to your question about "Brand X vehicles will not be allowed in the show area, only" This is if you wanted to enter your car into the official show judging. This is much more then a show or event. It is a Happening of Greatness.... like the parting of the sea, seeing Hallys comet or getting laid for the first time in your life.

Usually by 5 – 5:30 route 79 is lined with people with their lawn chairs and by 6:00 things start going down. Let me do some checking. As my buddy knows about everyone in Heath including some heath cops and I think he knows somebody a the dodge dealership in heath. I’ll try to get the inside skinny from the cops and see if we can hook up at the dealership. Will post as soon as I get the low down.

Sounds VERY cool!!! Keep us posted. I will DEFINITELY be there. Like I said earlier in the post. I will also probably have a couple friends with us in their '69 (Red) and '70 (Vitamin C) Roadrunners who would probably enjoy joining the mix.

We will definately be there on Saturday... not sure if I will bring my Challenger S/E even though I have new wheels, spoiler, striping on it.... $80 to just have others look at it is a little pricey.

Well I would think you'd HAVE to bring the Challenger!! Doesn't mean you have to enter it in the show! You could still have it for the cruise nights after the show. I'm driving mine out there jsut for that reason. I have no intention of entering it, in fact the truck would be better so I can haul some parts home, but I want my Challenger there for the cruises afterwards.

I will be there! We were planning on going to Heath rd Saturday night anyway. 6:00 at the Dodge dealership sounds good. I'm assuming the Dodge dealership is right on route 79 so it will be easy to find??

We will be on Brice Rd Friday night too if anyone wants to stop by there. Usually sit in the bank lot right next to (southside of) Popeye's Chicken (across from Burger King) Probably will be there 5:30-6:00 til they run people out.

I don't know if the Roadrunner gang is going to make it. Last time I talked to my buddy, he was going, but wasn't bringing the Runner...... Why, I don't know. He finished it a couple years ago but still hasn't brought it out there.

We will be on Brice Friday night around 5:30 or 6:00 (Depends what time we get on the road), and WILL be at the dealership on Heath Rd Saturday night.

Heath was AWESOME tonight. So many cars and lots of burn outs. I even did a few! It was crazy Mopars were doing big smoking burn outs right next to the cops but, another make did one the police were on them in a second. Some chick thought her RSX was hot Sh#*. She did a front burn next to me and the cops had her on the side of the road in an instant. Then we went to Brice on the way home and it was a ghost town.

Frnknsteen
08-16-2010, 07:38 AM
Watched for people on Brice RD Friday night, but nobody stopped by. Did get a chance to chat with some other Challenger owners, but overall,.... I agree with Kuczy that it was pretty weak. Nobody really got on it at all and there were less Mopars than I've ever seen there. Lot's of other brand cars as well, which hasn't happened in most of the years I've been there.

Heath was a different story all together!! Kuczy couldn't be more right that it was AWESOME on Saturday night. WAAYYY more cars there, and WAAYYY more action going on. Cops were letting people get on it, as long as they weren't getting crazy. Seemed like if they were sitting still doing a burnout, it was cool, but if they were moving and could cause issues, then they were warning people to be careful.

Comparing the two.....Brice was dead by 9:00.....We were at Heath until 11:30 before people started clearing out. Already planning to get a room at Heath next year instead of staying in Columbus.

Funny (but embarrassing) story, but we're all friends here right. Tried to do a burnout in front of people. Car bogged like it has before and pretty much fell flat on it's face. Immediately pulled off in a parking lot, pulled the #2 fuse, reset the TCM (w/predator) and recalibrated the throttle. All the difference in the world!!! Went back to the same spot I embarrassed myself and made up for my poor showing!!! :)

Anyone that went to Brice and thought it was good this weekend.... You HAVE to go to Heath next year to check it out. None of the guys who said they were going to meet at the dealership showed up (sat there over 45 minutes waiting:smiledown:) but we said "screw it" and went and had a blast on our own!!!

I got to the dealership around 8-8:30 and there wasn't anyone around so we went cruise'n. At Brice if you did a burnout you saw a $500 fine. In Heath if you did a burnout you saw smiles and heard cheers.
Sorry we missed you at the dealer. 5 kids and a late baby sitter not to mention the rain. Glad it cleared up. It was a blast.

No Worries! I understand completely! The weather was pretty nasty early, but cleared out nicely. The rest of the evening was great, temp dropped by more than 10 degrees and the cars were running great!!

Say..... That wasn't you in the Hemi Orange SRT that was doing burnout after burnout on the southbound lane was it?!?!:wow:Whoever that was, first he was in front of us in the right lane, then in back of us in the right lane..... seemed like he was rolling them every 30 feet!!

We were on Brice Rd from 6:30 till almost 9PM... We had never been to anything like that before so we thought it was cool, took alot of pics of some cool cars. When we left I rolled the windows down and opened the sunroof and it was cool to hear all of the comments check out that Challenger with those cool rims and pointing at our car. I am not really into burning tires or anything like that so I was fine on Brice Rd. Next year we may 'plan' to go to Heath though.. not sure.. will see what other stuff we have going on.

Frnknsteen and others, sorry I missed Brice road Friday night as I got out of the track late and with the heat I had to get a shower before doing anything. Ended up staying in Heath that night. Friday night on 79 was just a semi preview to Saturday. Wild and fun time once again. The rain delayed getting things going Saturday but by 9:00 when I got out there it was all out... Get it on. And as mentioned as long as you didn't get crazy and start fish tailing or stupid stuff like that.....all was good with the Heath police. One thing I did learn was they were pulling anyone over like pick up trucks and little foreign jobbies doing burn outs. For us Mopars they kind just turned their heads....as long as we respected their rules.
I did run into one of our other "Z" dudes "Can you Say Hemi. Cool guy just like the rest of you all. Get a room in Heath, Newark, Grandville, or Hebron next year as they are all within a short drive to Where it all goes down.

Frnknsteen You make me laugh about pulling fuse 2. Glad to hear you redeemed yourself. Also relating to your reply to Kuczy - if that was between 9:00 and 9:30 Satuday night it was me as I was heading to the Holiday Inn Express to hook up with some of the guys staying there. Sorry if I smoked you out.

Side note: This is the first time I ran with doing my gear swap to a 3:55's. Ran 4 times 13.4 13.2 13.1 13.0 still running the F1's..... but not for long as I'm looking to hit the 12's next year.

That's cool man! No Problem. That's the best part of weekends like this... Not really having a set schedule and just getting out and having some fun.

As for resetting everything and redeeming myself... What was I suppose to do? :4-dontknow: Couldn't just run off with my tail between my legs!!:i_rolleyes::smileup: Amazing the difference all of that made though!! Soon as I did it, I was back by the Red Lobster. Jumped on it from a slow roll and found myself going a little sideways down the street. I just looked at the girlfriend and said "Ok, Now let's get back out there!!"

We WILL have to get the Indiana cars together sometime. Can You Say Hemi lives just an 1/2 hour north of me. We've talked about getting together sometime, but you know how time flies by. We'll have to just pick a central place sometime and just plan to get together for lunch or something.

Where in Indiana are you DSM?

Lafayette about 55 miles north of indy. Maybe before the snow flys we can hook up at a cruse or show or something like that. Health / Newark Ohio is really my home town but moved away in 98. Been here in Lafayette since 2000. Where are you guys at?
