If you have been doing some "Granny Driving", do this to get back in the groove!
Clearing PCM Adaptive Programming Memory
Open the cover on the IPM (Integrated Power Module or Engine fuse
block/power center) and pull Fuse F2 for a count of approximately
15 seconds resets the adaptives and makes you fast again.
Note: (according to a Chrysler tech with 25 years experience, only 15 seconds is needed to clear)
Here's what it does! Pulling Fuse 2 resets;
- All PCM DTCs erased.
- All OBD2 monitor results erased.
- All long term fuel trim adaptive values reset to Zero.
Make sure your car is turned off and the key is in your pocket while doing the pull.!
It is a 25 amp beige fuse !
After you clear the PCM get back in and go out and do some spirited driving to get your Challenger accustomed to that type of driving !
had to say i was a bit sceptical but, this does work! i had some issues with throttle response and dead spots due to my daily commute, 26 miles one way at 65mph getting 27-28 mpg and have seen 30 a couple of times, but, i did notice a lack of performance creep into the car so yesterday morning prior to leaving for the office i pulled #2 fuse. to say that i was blown away with the performance improvement would be understated! i also noted about 2 mpg less than i had been seeing. alas, due to traffic i'm sure the computer will be back to its old self soon enough. so, i'll just plan to pull #2 often!
According to Diablo this is what the Predator can do with the TCM:
The Reset TCM (Transmission Control Module) Adaptation item will clear all transmission adaptives / whatever your trans has learned about your driving habits, and with the increased power provided by installing a Predator Tune, this is highly recommended. Coupling this with increased shift firmness is like having a new car.
Clearing the PCM by pulling fuse 2 does this :
- All PCM DTCs erased.
- All OBD2 monitor results erased.
- All long term fuel trim adaptive values reset to Zero.
So it looks to me like 2 different clearing operations.
I also stopped by my dealer as the service manager wanted to see the exhaust system. I had told him that I pulled the fuse in the fuse box and he looked at me and said "you read that in one of your forums?" I told him yes. He asked me why I did that and I told him to reset the computer on the car and he came back with "to get the car computer to relearn the driving style." I guess he is catching on.

Will the Predator automatically reset the PCM and TCM(auto) on a canned tune install or does this have to be done seperately?
Also, does disconnecting the battery for a certain time period also accomplish the same results as pulling fuse #2? Late last night after installing ARIA CAI and IAT repositioning, I only reconnected the battery. I didn't do fuse 2 pull. Should I? Car feels great and I finally get to install the Predator tomorrow. (Yes, I got it Lance)
Yours would be fuse 11. There is a mirror image on the underside of your fuse box. Pull with your car not running and key in your pocket for 15 seconds and replace.
