right after HemiFever pcm/tcm tune , still having problems hooking up. factory 245/45/20 goodyears View attachment 247929
Verrrrry Nice! The road surface has everything to do with your tires gripping, mine loves flat concrete with a rough texture, and not too freshly laid blacktop. Great time! (y) Ry

Possibly, not too sure the 1st few runs I made were 5.3, 5.5. I was getting a lot of wheel spin and my tires were at 46psi from the dealer. It may be more me making adjustments and getting use to the car and how it runs.
That’s new car shipping and storage pressure. Take the fronts down to 32-34 cold, the rears 27-29 cold
Monitor tire wear and adjust from there, wear in the middle lower it, wear on the edges up it.

Are these times that everyone is posting on stock 5.7's? The best I have seen is 6.0, with Hellcat lower airbox and no other mods. Curious to know, besides major expensive mods, what can be done to decrease this.

With bolt on upgrades and a tune to support them, mine are in my sig.

Now, not a 5.7, but does say my best is 4.4 ??

Was just tinkering around tonight and saw this.....

Best time in my stone stock 2019 R/T was a 4.9. Bolted on Racestars and 305/45/17's and ran a 4.6 still peg legged. Nothing else done to the car. Will report back when I get my 3.09 diff and M&H's with front runners on.

Hi all. Just found this discussion as I was thinking of posting a question on why I'm getting 4.9's on a bone stock 2019 5.7 R/T Shaker. I thought it was an outlier but apparently not as a few of you are posting similar. Normally though, I see a lot of guys posting in the low to mid 5 second range so I was wondering if the 2019 tune was different? Mine is a 5.7, Shaker (comes with factory CAI) and the 8 spd Automatic. I have the Plus and Performance Plus packages so that gives me the upgraded brakes, suspension, 275 Pirellis and 3.09 LSD. I did get a 4.8 once on a perfect take off. All runs were on 70-75 degree days.

So, what's the explanation for the better numbers?

Thanks for the feedback. I totally agree and these were pretty decent, low humidity days here in Charlotte. I'm just curious if the combination of factory components and/or possibly a change in the tune for the 2019 had any hand in it. The Dyno on the Performance Pages shows the car hitting 400hp, though I question the accuracy of that. The car seems quick off the line and can hang with a 392 for a while, then the 392 pulls away. It would be interesting if theres was something to it, though it 's probably nothing at all. LOL.

I've got a '09 R/T. Although I haven't done the 0-60 many times, my best with the 5 speed auto was 5.20. I'll bet your 8 speed tranny has something to do with your numbers along with the other weather factors mentioned above. My son has the 8 speed in his '19 SXT and it accelerates very quickly.

Thanks for the reply Midnite, I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is if Dodge changed the tune on the 2019 or if it's just the combination of the transmission, CAI and Active Exhaust. I was hoping someone on here had some insight on this.

We rented a 100% stock 2019 R/T 5.7L A8, and the best 0 ~ 60 time was 4.9 seconds, and that was out of about 6 runs getting used to the way it got off the line. It was not a Shaker, and it had an open differential and 245 tires. The Shaker is probably the best CAI coming from the Dodge Corporation, but flat out does not out perform the stock 5.7L air box, according to the 0 ~ 60 times compared, it is more about looks. The active exhaust is free flowing for the most part from the CATs back, but it still runs stock exhaust manifolds and stock CATs, so really the active exhaust is just sound, because plenty of flow restriction is still there. Using the 2019 cars comparatively your 2019 Shaker and the rented 2019 R/T has obviously been tuned a little better than some of the previous releases, as my 2015 took upgrades to ever reach 4.9 seconds.

My 2015 started out at a 5.7 second time, so IMO, You should be very pleased, because for me to reach 4.9 seconds cost me about $2,500 and to get better than that time an additional $2,500 but it has been worth it to me because my worst times now are in the 4.7 second area. So I would say the 2019 is coming out of the factory door with an improved tune over previously released years and hopefully it will get even better! Ry

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the real world feedback and it's pretty much what I suspected, which is that Dodge fine tuned the PCM for the model year.

Thanks again!

In case anyone is interested, I did several runs yesterday with the best one at 4.5 sec. I only have the intake tube and catch can additions but I’d say that’s pretty good for an essentially stock 5.7 R/T Shaker!

That is excellent! :) (y)
What tires are on it?

Car came with Plus, Performance Plus and Performance Handling packages, which included 275/45-20’s

Same regarding all the plus even the STP and Performance Pages, except my 2015 came with 20" x 8" rims all around.

So you have 20" x 9" rims all four corners then? :)

It is nice to see Dodge finally putting descent tires on these cars.

Beautiful car, and Good job!
I like seeing the R/T's potential playing out!
Thats right on par where I was a (4.6)still fighting the TC on mine. I loved my R/T, but I think it was snakebit.....I could never get it to act right with drag radials for whatever reason.
I think with solid traction, a 4.3 is possible in the right conditions with the right driver.
