While contemplating a backup camera install I looked at my license plate light and found it had a huge hole in the mounting area. What the bleep is that about?

I really have no clue but taking a wild guess that it's for mounting a backup camera ?

Someone will chime in that knows, I have the same hole in my 14.

My 2010 is the same. You'll appreciate the large opening when it's time to replace the license plate bulb. After removing the two screws. The light assembly has to be pushed up, then twisted 90 degrees to pull it down through the opening, to access the bulb.--:smileup:
