Went to the 2015 Detroit Auto Show today with my wife and kids, dad, uncle, and two cousins. Had a good time and got to see a lot of nice cars. Of course my favorite was the Hellcat, but there were a lot of other really nice cars there too. Here's some pics...

Thanks we had a good time! Brought lots of snacks and juice boxes for the kids so they'd last a while haha! We were there from about 10am to 12:30pm, about that time our youngest started to expire so it was time to go, but we had seen most of what we wanted to see by then anyway.

We always check out Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Mercedes (since I work there). Not really into any of the foreign stuff.

It was nice hanging out with my Dad there too, he was having a good time, he was sitting in just about everything he could haha!

I sat in that gray/silver Challenger Scat Pack Shaker, it was a 6 speed and the shifter felt a little different than the older ones like mine, felt a little crisper and lighter when shifting. The interior was all new of course, have to say I really like it, but I still like my old interior as well. That big hood scoop up on the hood is really cool though sitting in the drivers seat.

Here's the car that started it all...

Here's a pic of the car that started it all for me and for all of us on this forum...

From the 2006 Detroit Auto Show...the 2009 Dodge Challenger concept car. Remember seeing this at the auto show with my then girlfriend (now wife) and thinking if they ever made a car like that I'd have to get one!

That pic of the concept Challenger sure brings back memories! Like you ,I said if they made that car and it was affordable, I'm getting it! My first mod was putting the Challenger letters on the back quarter panels just like the concept. :)

Yep that's where it all started almost 10 years ago now. The new Challengers above sure are sweet though, they did a good job on the refresh. Didn't really goof it up at all, just added some new flavor to an already awesome car.

The auto show is always fun to go to, lots of neat stuff to check out, especially in the dead of winter!

I really wish I could have gone to this or sema. I told my wife that one day we are gonna take a vacation to one of these shows but apparently it sounds a lot better to me than to her haha. We have cruising the coast down here but other than that there aren't any good car shows around.

Very nice pictures Carl! I really liked the silver shaker Challenger the best! I am glad you posted the concept picture. I like the way they actually changed it a little bit from the concept. The front end of ours I like a little better. What kind of car is that you are sitting in? I think you should have a pic of you in the shaker!

I agree, the front end on the actual production car is better looking than the concept. I still remember seeing that concept car for the first time though and thinking wow, what if they actually made those cars one day!

That was a little base model Fiat. My daughter really liked it so we checked it out and then I sat in it for fun and my Dad snapped a quick pic of me in it haha! It's a nice car but way too small inside for me.

Didn't get a chance to get a pic of me in the Shaker. That hood sure is sweet though, love how the scoop looks when you're sitting inside the car looking out. Wouldn't mind having a setup like that on my car one day down the road.

There was a lot of nice cars there. You could easily spend an entire day there and still not see everything. We made it about 2.5 hours and then the kids were starting to expire so we had to wrap it up. It was a nice time!

Hey thanks for the preview Carl. Looking forward to the Chicago Auto Show which comes in February. Can't wait !! Did see my first Hellcat yesterday at Bosak Dodge. It's a black one with burgandy theater ropes and stantions surrounding it. It was ordered by the husband of 'Z' member that passed away suddenly last year who had just purchased her SRT. The Hellcat has red interior. While we were at the dealership, some Lawyer walks in and told the salesman, "I want that car" Can't have it, it's sold. So he sits down and orders one just like it!!

Haha I wish I could just sit down and order one just like that, that'd be cool! I'm sure the guy worked hard his whole life and it's a well deserved car!

Carl! Thanks for posting! I'll be going to the Cleveland show when it comes along. I was surprised to see they didn't have to use a can opener to pry you out of the Fiat! LOL. Glad to see you Enjoy the Journey! Lou.

Oh my that's a ugly front end!!! Looks like a pig snout, I guess Dodge/Fiat is taking lessons from Ford/Chevy now!!!

I didn't tell you the rest of the story on this guy. Wife and I were sitting at the next desk over signing paperwork on a '13 Town&Country we just bought when all this transpired. The Hellcat was right besides both desks. This guy kept looking at the Cat all the while as he was answering all these questions. He is a medical malpractice lawyer and he's telling the salesman about all the cars he has in a warehouse...10 of them. I heard, Vette, 56 t-bird, 66 GTO, Some kind of high powered BMW, and a bunch more. So after they got done with all he wanted on the Cat, the salesman leaves then returns only to tell him they can't get him a Hellcat cause the wait is now at 18 months !!!:shakehead: :4-dontknow: :wow: The guy storms out of there. I go " so what happened?" And he tells me in disbelief!!! :4-dontknow: That's crazy!!!

I'm not a big fan of the Ram Rebel either, little too gawdy for me. Seems to be direct competition with the Ford Raptor I'm guessing? I missed the point on what those kind of trucks are all about.

18 months now to wait for a Hellcat? The dealership by me has several, wonder if they're all spoken for though. Still lists them as for sale.

The Auto Show in Charleston this past weekend was a flop... only a 2015 Challenger RT with a cloth interior to look at... The dealership where we bought our Jeep SRT had more eye candy in the show room. Don't know about the Ram but I think I like the 300... Thanks for posting all the pics...actually got to sit in a Fiat as well... not so much sorry you guys need to do better if you plan on going after the land of the riseing sun...
