2023 Scat Pack just arrived, but damaged :(

My 2023 just came in, and the rear bumper has a chunk out of it and cracks. So they have to replace the whole wraparound bumper assembly/cover. Well at least it's still mud/snow season so it was going into storage anyway.

Absolutely true. Dealer said he will resell it if I don't want it...I can still get the Jailbreak.

I feel your pain. My car showed up with a few scratches and am waiting for the snow to lift before it goes in to get fixed.

Congrats on the new ride. Although it sucks to have it show up that way it’s an easy fix. Once done you’ll never see any difference.

I know you are giddy to get your new car and cannot wait to get it out on the road! Just stop and take as much time as needed to go over it in detail.

The dealer missed the roof trim mis-aligned on my car, and I spotted it on delivery. Made them fix it before I signed. But I got too excited and didn't check everything. A few months later I noticed my front right marker light was out. I found the wire had been yanked out of the socket and hidden under a body panel. Wasted a bunch of time trying to get the dealer to fix it. Given where I live, it was cheaper & quicker (time & gas) to just buy a new pigtail and wire it myself.

So go over the car in detail. Make sure every accessory works. So what if your dealership and sales droid is annoyed, take as much time as needed and don't let them rush you. Don't sign-first and inspect-later either.

Oh, and congrats on the new ride! Don't forget the proper break-in procedure listed in the Owners manual.

This is my 3rd Challenger in 4 years, I'm well versed on break in. I'm also not too stressed. They bought back my 2022 WB SP Shaker last fall & I made a 15K profit. They put me in a brand new Wrangler 4xe Sahara to drive while this was being built. GM of my dealership is a friend. I'm a bit sad, but not worried. They are holding a WB Jailbreak allotment for me, so pending the availability of the M6 he's giving me the option.

Sorry for the damage to your car and your disappointment. Assuming no underlying damage, replacing the bumper cover is about as easy a fix as one could hope for if done by a compatent collision repair shop. Good luck, hope it ends well for you.

I’d let them fix it. 99% chance you’ll never know it was damaged if they do a good job. My father in law backed into my wife’s 300C and you can’t tell it was ever damaged.

If you want a Challenger without day one issues........order the Jailbreak if you can.

Well visited dealership today. Car hasn’t moved. Sitting outside in snow and filth backed up to a sketchy gas station next to the dealership. Rotors of course already rusted. They told me 2 more weeks. Oh and they already activated my radio membership. They said because it was a custom order they had to show it was actually sold within 12 days of arrival. Not happy. They said they’d put it in their covered storage starting tonight.

I would not accept a Brand New Damaged Vehicle it will be on the Vehicles History. Get a New Car with no damage and move forward once a insurance claim is done to repair it
that is on record.
