2023 Scat Pack just arrived, but damaged :(

My 2023 just came in, and the rear bumper has a chunk out of it and cracks. So they have to replace the whole wraparound bumper assembly/cover. Well at least it's still mud/snow season so it was going into storage anyway.

2 weeks and they left it outside in adverse weather? A brand new car? I would be livid.
Have you spoken to the GM?
I did. Not the GM I did the deal with. My GM got a promotion and moved to another location. Pisses me off because they told me they’d put it in their indoor storage but didn’t. They have unsold used performance cars in storage. Meanwhile my car is being sandblasted by parking lot dust.

I would not accept a Brand New Damaged Vehicle it will be on the Vehicles History. Get a New Car with no damage and move forward once a insurance claim is done to repair it
that is on record.
I didn’t accept it. It was damaged in shipping. They had to get a quote from a body shop to replace the damaged rear bumper cover. Body shop has also never sprayed Go Mango so they were worried about color match. If the car was delivered perfect it would have gone straight to custom shop for ceramic coat and tint. Wouldn’t have sat outside in crappy Vermont freezing weather.
It’s not the greatest thing it sitting outside but not the end of the world. We bought our new in 2010 but it had sat on the lot for several months. I clay barred the thing and it was fine. Most of the time lately when I say when I’m worried about color matching a vehicle they say it’s not a problem lije it used to be.

What was his excuse for treating you (and by extension your car) so bad? They have already lied to you and shown favoritism toward their inventory and discrimination against you and your car.
I mean, you signed the paperwork to buy the car before it was fixed. Now you are obviously low priority to them. I would not have bought the car until it was fixed to my satisfaction. If they had to show it sold within 12 days,...well someone would be working overtime.
It was a custom order of 2023 dealer allotment. I didn’t sign any paperwork. I’ve got a 2023 sahara I’ve been driving that’s my trade. I’m also so pissed I’m going to make them take back my 2022 3500 ram that I also had custom built.

I'm confused. If you didn't sign any paperwork, then they still own it (less any deposit). Even if it's a custom order, it's theirs until you actually buy it.
I would let them know if they don't get their act together, they can keep it. Being in professional sales for 35+ years, I don't play games or put up with any cr*p.
If you want a Challenger without day one issues........order the Jailbreak if you can.

And keep your fingers crossed 🤠.
Like I said...........move on.

correct. It was a custom order. They basically have 15k of my money. Day after it arrived we went in to do paperwork and WE found the damage. They missed it off the truck. So yes they own it until it’s perfect. Or I don’t take it. Sucks though to see my name in the window sticker and they just tossed it in the back 40 in the junk lot.

Well it was the only WB SP they were allotted. And I ordered it with the M6. Not another available to order.

Man, I understand you are caught in the middle. A car, just the way you want it with your name on the sticker. And probably can't be reordered if you walk away. But, if you haven't purchased it, how did they get $15K of your money? My car was also custom ordered and I have my window sticker with my name on it framed in my office. But, they only had my $1K deposit until I inspected the car and signed off on it and did the purchase paperwork.
As much as it s*cks. I would just do my best to get them off their a$$es and still take the car. Because it's the last opportunity. And unfortunately, they know it. They probably want you to walk so they can throw a huge markup on it and put it on the lot. :(
That sucks so bad, I absolutely hate transporter trucks almost as much as Car Dealerships. As much as I'd love to blame the Dealership they played no part in the damage and my guess is they don't pay for the damage since it happen before it got to them. One would think you kind of have them over a barrel but with everyone going nuts buying new Challengers and sales up so much they know they can throw a new skin on the bumper and sell it no problem.

Use it to your advantage one way or another and Good Luck

Dealer finally finished the replacement of the damaged bumper. Brought it home tonight on dealer plates. Doing paperwork Sunday.

Seems like it. My biggest fear was paint not matching. But it looks ok.

My factory order arrived with a tear in the headliner. Car has a sunroof and to replace the headliner, they need to remove the windshield. The dealer knows how picky I am since it's the 4th new vehicle I've purchased. They offered to order me a new one, which I accepted. The order was confirmed on 03/06/23 with a VIN # and the status has not changed since that time. Infuriating.

Do you have a actual VIN# or just a VON? It took a few months after I placed my order for them to provide the actual VIN. It definitely is a crummy situation. Keep us posted.

I was given a full Vin. And when I look at the vin#'s of inventory enroute to some local dealerships, they have Vin sequentials 40,000-50,000 higher than my Vin. I've asked the dealership twice to look into it and nothing has changed. When I call corporate, their answer is always- contact your dealership, they have the best information. It's like a huge circle of unaccountability. I even considered going to pickup the original one I ordered as it's still on the lot, but I've found so many issues with the headliner replacement, I just can't spend that kind of money on a brand new, poorly repaired car that had the windshield removed and reinstalled already. Plus it has paint damage from the repair process.
Thanks for listening. I'll keep you all updated.
