In a weird series of events, Hellen, my 2014 RT added 2 more kills to the list this past weekend. The first was a definite unexpected one. I'm chilling at a red light, conversating with my girlfriend, a Yukon Denali is beside me and a BMW X6 M series suv is behind him. I remember looking up the x6 truck because my ole lady really liked it. The price tag being 93k tho
. Anyway, I'm paying this Denali no attentions....well light turns green and the Denali smashes out. By the time I reacted, he was already thru the intersection. Much to the angst of my girlfriend, I stomp the gas, and start playing catch up. The traction control pulled timing right at 5500 Rpms and I bounced off the rev limiter 4 times before she would finally shift into 2nd gear, but once she did, it was game over and she quickly started to reel the Denali in. By the start of 3rd I had closed the gap and was passing the Denali. Look up and the bmw truck had kept up the entire time. We all merge onto the interstate when the Denali decided he wants a rematch. Pulls up beside me and we're off to the races again. This time it's defintiely no match as he quickly becomes a spec in my rear view. The bmw truck then finds his way besides me. I remember at the red light that this was a 555 hp vehicle(at least the 2014 models are). I engage sports mode as he gives me the 3 honks and we're off to the races. I must say, that's one stouttttttttt SUV. His nose stayed on my rear bumper the entire time before giving up. I must say it's nice to beat a vehicle that's 60k+ more expensive than my own. But that x6 M would make one helluva grocery getter one day while my beloved hellen is parked in the garage, only seeing sunlight on the best of days. Yup...one day. Definitely 2 unexpected kills. Guess those guys just wanted to see how fast these beautiful beasts really are!!
Has anyone else had a problem with traction control preventing your A5 to switch gears? Caught me by total surprise and I wonder can I force the car to shift into second with the paddles even with the Traction control
