I did a search for Canadian pricing on the dodge Demon and ALLPARS site came up. The Author tried to justify that Canadians where paying cheaper prices when It came to the Demon because of the conversion rate. He used $125K as a the dollar amount that it would cost me to buy a car in Canada.

Right now it costs me a $1.25 CAN to get $1.00 US. In Ontario we pay 13% sales tax, so after tax without the mark up you are looking at close to $142K.

I find it laughable that the author would even suggest that Canadians are getting a better deal on the Demon then you folks in the US.

I don't think you guys down south are paying $125K before taxes and mark ups.

    What a joke.

The last 2 are items are good but as far as free health care there is no such thing. Last year the government took 35% of my income in taxes off of my cheque. Not to mention if you work overtime it becomes about 50%.

This is money that you don’t ever get back. The working people who pay taxes pay for the healthcare while the people who don’t work get it for free.

So just imagine having the government take between 35% and 40% in taxes off your cheque every two weeks and on top of that paying another 13% (in Ontario) sales tax on everything you buy.

Not to mention in Canada you can’t use the mortgage as a tax deduction like in the US.

So on average the working stiff in Canada pays over 50% or more in taxes to live in Canada. It’s not cheap to live here by any means.

Wow, yous guys in Canada sure do get hosed in taxes. I thought Wisconsin was bad..........After reading this I whine no more.
Are you able to buy a Demon (or any other car in the US and take it over the border yourself?
Or would you have to pay duty and sales tax on out of country purchase that would bump the price right back up?

We would have to pay duty and pass an inspection to be able to get a sticker and registration. Even if the car is made in Canada. I already try to import one and it was not a good deal at the end. Not to mention that Dodge don't want to warranty the car if its come from the USA.

Well that blows - especially since these cars are made in Brampton.

Yea, what i found stupid is that if i go to the USA and my car broke down, Dodge will repair it under warranty, and if you come to Canada. Dodge will also repair your car. But if i buy the car in the USA and bring it here, the warranty is voided. Don't know why but it is weird in many ways.

They probably do it to help out the dealerships so everyone doesn't go over the border to shop for cars or other big items

If you live in the US and buy a Dodge in Canada the warranty doesn't come with it. Was at a dealer last year and they had a Hellcat that was pretty cheap. Guy traded it in, got a good deal on the trade, afterwards the dealer realized the warranty wasn't any good and ended up taking a loss on the car because they couldn't get anyone to buy it lol.
