Just picked up 2012 one owner Challenger SRT-8 with 4,800 miles. The previous owner kept it in a climate controlled garage and never drove in the rain.....basically babied it. He traded up to a Hellcat so this got me thinking that SRT's are going to be popping up on lots more often. Does anyone else see this as a possibility?

Yup and R/Ts as well. There are more used Challengers on lots here than ever before.

It makes sense to me. I wonder what kind of deal was struck? On that note you know the dealership is going to ask top dollar for the SRT8 when someone decides to trade up to that level. Enjoy the Journey! Lou.

Seems like the same thing happened when the new corvette stingray came out. A friend of mine picked up a used ZL1 convertible recently because previous owner could not resist the new corvette looks.

I have noticed an increase in Challengers in the paper car listings and seeing them on the Lots. Had started looking for Challenger Back in Feb Of Last year, but due to price and limited used ones i decided to wait for the new 2015. Glad I did.

Local dealer has a 2012 SRT redline A5 with 488 miles for 39K, looks brand new. Owner now has a Hellcat, I wonder how many miles it will have in 3 years?

I expect that the used market, for pre-2015 Challengers, will be soft for a few years.
This is where those of us, who bought heavily discounted 2014's, will pay the price. Of course, we knew that when we bought them. Thankfully, I love my car and plan to keep it.

I just did the same. Traded a 13 R/T with 8400 miles for a 13 SRT with 3200 miles. He pre-traded his for a Hellcat which he still hasn't received.

Congrats Tripper!!! Now I will have to go to the SORC again this year to see your new upgrade! The Sandhills is calling you to enter the race!

Thanks Betty but I think I will do the same thing we did last year. WATCH. You need to get there earlier so you can watch the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile shootouts. I think I saw a thread in here today about you putting on a get together up there in the Black Hills. This might be something to think about to go along with that. What say you???

The Challenger has been out now for 7 years so naturally more of them will show up used as owners trade them in. I don't think the Hellcat is driving this trend in general, there just have not been enough of them built. Also there are more competitors in general available now for people to trade to. The longer I have to wait for my Hellcat, the more likely I am to jump ship to something different.

Well, I traded my Core in for a 15 SRT. I think the 2015 design changes are a significant part of why there are more used Challengers on dealer lots. Most people can't afford a Hellcat and odds are there are just as many first time Challenger owners buying a Hellcat then people trading up out of a Challenger.

Hellcats have nothing to do with it it is just in the numbers... nor do I think to new 15's are having that big an effect... the fact is Dodge sold 50 thousand Dodge Challengers. The good news is they are keeping their value...I got a good deal on my 14 Shaker but not a killer deal like we got on the SRT Jeep... My local dealer only has three Challengers in stock right now and they don't sit long..even in the winter....
