Just make sure to hook up a big Ziploc bag underneath the thermostat housing so you don't make a mess. You can pour the coolant caught in the bag back into the overflow so you don't lose any in the process.

Good luck man!

The plugs on these Hemi's aren't hard at all to change, just a little time consuming since there's 16 of them. The thermostat is pretty easy too, maybe a 30-45 min job if you're not in a rush, etc.

You'll need to lower the fan settings in the car after you install the new thermostat. I have mine set at 188 LS and 199 HS. Seems to work well, keeps the car running at about 186-188 most of the time and the fans aren't constantly on either.

did the t stat after work today .. went smooth.. used the zip lock bag trick ..
i didnt like just seeing that o ring as a seal so i put a thin smear of mopar bond on the neck.. put her back together..

funny how the coolant that came out would bearly fit back in prob had a
(odd way to say it)
a mouth full that didnt fit back in
took her for a drive so far all is well .
i set the fans at
ls 187.19
hs 198.79
ms 198.79

think they would just make it a even damn number lol

Those little o-rings actually seal up pretty good usually. I just used the o-ring on my Jet thermostat and it's been fine for a few years. The one on my Nova seals up better than the paper gasket that comes with some of the housings out there. I don't think the extra sealant will hurt anything though.

I know what you mean, why can't it just be 188, 189, 190, etc. Not sure what's up with those little decimal point numbers but whatever haha!

Glad you got it installed without much trouble. It's a fun easy job to do. I'm waiting for some warmer weather so I can install my front strut bar. Might not be until April haha!

deff will.. i know before my 180 tstat my temp gauge would be close to mid now its like 2 notches below mid ..

drove her around for about 45 min just to make sure everything was good

one other thing when i pulled my old t stat out. the bottom plunger stayed in the block ... it like seperated from the t stat .. that shouldnt happen... i might have been in bypas the whole time

Yep mine is around two notches to the left now compared to stock. If you datalog you'll see what it is exactly. Mine fluctuates between 186 and 190 since I have the fan setting on 188.

Not sure on the plunger deal, I think mine came out as all one piece when I removed mine. Sounds like you're all set though.

yeah shes running good .. i was concern with the coolant at first but it worked itself out getting the air out..
im use to have to burp the system i just ran it for a bit with the coolant cap off to let the air escape .. also i added a bottle of water wetter, should keep her down pretty well ill have to do some logs and see where its at temp wise
