Not sure if this allowed, but if not, i'll take it down.

I just got an idea in my head about how fun it'd be to know other arizonans. We have plenty of annoying motorcycle weekends where they drive up and down central ave. Why not have a challenger day :)

Let me know if anyone is in or around Phoenix.

I'll be in Phoenix next week! Unfortunately without my Challenger. Would have loved to drive it out but it's a long drive for a 4 day trip!

The Spring Cruise on Central Avenue was very much a trip down memory lane.. great cars, some epic burnouts (where you could not see across the street with smoke billowing 5-6 stories high) and the sound of blower cars crackin throttles echoin off the buildings. Wife and I did some up-downs in our bright red R/T Challenger.. I had the resonators deleted a few months ago and cruisin right at 2k rpm in second gear the Hemi sounded *great* ..brought back memories of cruisin my '67 Hemi GTX, summer of 1969, in second gear on the same section of Central Avenue, Hemi singin her song just boomin off the buildings off a light. Was topped off by gettin next to a '70 Cuda, all blacked out, loud, low, husband and wife not much younger than we are (we are in our 60's) .. he jumped off the light .. I jumped off the next ..3rd light we both hammered it to the speed limit and damned if we weren't door handle to door handle all the way ..ROFL ..both of us laffin like kids at the next light.. thumbs up exchanged and we cruised a bit longer before callin it a nite. A great night.. lookin forward to the Fall Cruise on Central :)

I am definitely interested in being apart of something like that. It would be fun. Where and when were you thinking?

Did this group request ever get off the ground? Just wondering how many challenger/Mopar guys responded.

Hey guy's I think we should pick a spot here in the Mesa area & start meeting & discuss starting our own club...I went to a new club meeting in Scottsdale today & was treated rudely like I was intruding and didn't fit in because I haven't spent as much on mods as they have...I'd love to get involved with a group of good people that aren't all snooty...

What's up guys? I'd love to know if anyone else has a 3.6 with Solo exhaust I could see in person. the idea of a meet up is cool. I'm running BB MAgnaflow GP but not very satisfied with them...

Anyway, I used to run PJ's Performance off of Greenway and the SidexSide community would meet there often. It's a great way to see mods and talk shop.

Most the meetups I see are all on the west side, I'd like to see more opportunities on the east side, like maybe somewhere around Gilbert...
I'll probably check out the kmart in east mesa tonite to see if anyones getting out yet...

The third Saturday of every month is MOPAR night at the Pavilions in Scottsdale. Tonight there were two Challenger Clubs & a lot of solo's plus other MOPARS. Might try that.

It's really unfortunate that there are owners out there that look their noses down on others just because you don't have a small fortune invested in aftermarket parts on your car. They are missing out on the most important aspect of owning a car like the new Challenger....the chance to meet and become friends with other owners. They don't understand that it doesn't take a lot of money to make your car look great. I have found many "low-buck" ideas that I have shared with others, and some have copied my ideas while others decided to go a different route...and that's what it's all about...doing it your way. I have found that less is sometimes more...some out there just keep adding every new shiny part they can to their car...back in the day we called these cars..."Cal Custom Specials" (named after the line of cheap add-on parts that most all auto and department stores sold back then). In my mind your mods should "work" together as a whole with a theme so to speak, in other words what looks as if it was planned, not just throw on for the sake of a new addition.
I hope you guys can get a group of owners (even if it's small) together that welcome all those with the same interest.....I will be looking for future posts. By the way, I am on the East side, Mesa....(I attend the K-mart show from time to time...)

    hey

I have been to Scottsdale a few times and the groups don't seem to friendly, is there a good group to get in with for show, rides and just hanging out with other challenger owners and having fun?

    Thanks:wavey:
