Bought this baby in '79 two weeks before my 16th birthday. Sold it or should I say traded it in on a new car in '83. Have kicked my self for 31 years. Crusing ebay 3 weeks ago and saw a '73 that looked "just like my old car". Called the seller and went to look at it before the sale ended, 4 hours away. As soon as he opened the shop door(goose bumps), the gut feeling was that it could be my old car. I found a few things that I remembered about the car in the 30 minutes I was inspecting the car. WE made a deal and I loaded it up for the trip home. I spent the next Saturday going over with a fine tooth comb. I found 7 things that made me know 99.9999% that it was my car !!! Confirmed with the state DMV that it is the actual car !!!!

Gonna need some help in finding some things to get it back to original condition..............

Very cool, congratulations on finding your old Challenger. I've had numerous e-body cars over the years and sometimes wonder what happened to them, but so far I haven't run across any, at least as far as I can tell. Hopefully they have managed to avoid the crusher.

Thanks everyone !!

It was quite a shock that took a few days to sink in once I got back home.

The best part is that when I showed my wife the pictures on line, the first thing out of her mouth was "have you called him yet???" "I'll go get the money out of the bank while you call him" If she hadn't pushed, I probably wouldn't have even went to look at it. We did have our first date in the car and we are still together !!
The best part is when I traded it in at the Dodge dealership, the owner repainted and put it in his collection where it sat until 2007. The last time I saw the car was a couple of weeks after I traded it off and it was in the body shop primed and ready for paint. Luckly the last owner took pretty good care of it and keep it stored most of the time too. There are only about 10,000 more miles on it now than when I last drove it in '83. All numbers are still matching and the worst thing I have to do to it is replace the front worn out suspension. The paint is still 9.5 out of 10.

I do feel very fortunate since I just happened to see it.
