Well really, I can't believe I could squeeze in a few pictures of my last road trip. I made a quick trip to Colorado for a wedding reception on Thursday, and the camera just couldn't resist these photos. I will have two more posts to follow this one.
I left early Thursday morning, the Challenger was shined up, and the weather was cold. It was about 5 degrees at 7:30 a.m.! I got to Alliance, NE and right in the middle of town was a huge flock of geese. I think they were feeding in this corn field and just bedded down for the night. (First photo)
Then I got some nice winter photos in Bridgeport, NE. I was crossing the bridge over the North Platte River, and with the heavy ice covered trees, the geese and beautiful morning----well I had to stop and take these photos:

I know you are wondering where is the Challenger??? No car pics??? Well, there weren't too many opportunities for car photos. They had a lot of snow in SW Nebraska and NE Colorado, so I couldn't venture too far for pics. I did get one unique photo. I love to photograph trains, so how to get the car and a train at this crossing in one photo?? This just seemed to work out!

The train photo was taken near Sterling, CO. I then headed south to Last Chance, CO. I wasn't planning on any photos there, as I had already posted one early this spring for Oilslick. However, it was so funny to me that a town without any businesses, post office, or gas station could manage to decorate three poles for Christmas!! Now that is the Christmas spirit.

Thanks so much Carl! I had to walk a little to get those and let us just say I was freezing my @$$ off in 5 degree weather! Finally I have a couple of Challenger photos to share. I was headed home yesterday, got off the Interstate at Sterling, CO, and spied this beautiful Challenger at a gas station. I saw that the car was idling, so I parked my car (thank goodness it was shined up). I walked over and saw the owner in the driver's seat. I expected a guy to roll down the window. Much to my surprise a nice lady was driving this SRT Core. I had a very nice chat with her. She said she bought the core and wanted to add these stripes of her own design. She told me she lived in a small town in far western Nebraska. Then she said she lived on a farm! Wow two farm girls that love Challengers!! I gave her the Z website info, so I hope she joins us!! So cool to see a gal in an SRT Core! I loved her wheels too!

Yeah Andy, the car ran beautiful!! On the way home I got about 27 mpg. They had about a foot of snow down in NE Colorado a few days before my trip. So my car did get a little dirty. The roads were good though. Sure was a fun drive!

Cool pic of the train! That SRT Core was really sharp too! Hopefully she'll join the forum!

These cars love the cold weather, always run great with super cold air! Sounds like a fun drive!

Great pics Betty, I would have thought the geese would have been further south this time of year. Also good job of recruiting.

Thanks Corbin! I believe there are Canadian geese around the North Platte River quite late in the season. I used to duck hunt on this river when I was younger, and I remember geese being around at Christmas time.
Btw, after I got to my niece's house, she did the driving into Denver for the wedding festivities. We got into town right in the rush hour traffic. NO WAY would I ever drive in that crazy fiasco! Was fun to see the millions of lights on the freeway at night. Looked like a giant Christmas lighting display! Just glad she got to do the driving!

Awesome winter pics Betty! The scenery is the only thing I like about winter. It's cool that you got over to Last Chance again. If it were two weeks ago, you could've met my friend who was there hunting.

Ha! Dan, I wouldn't say that was my most beautiful picture! Thanks! Here is one of the other poles they decorated. Btw, that Dairy King is not open for business!

Thank you so much Susie! You should be around when I slam on the brakes, park the Challenger, decide there is a picture opportunity, and look like a fool running along a bridge in 5 degree weather to take pictures!
So fun though!! I feel like a photograph is a way to capture a moment in time that will forever be gone in a few short seconds!
