71 to 73 Army here... Nothing but 1911's... In combat you want that knock down power you can depend on... 👍In Mogadidhu in 93 I carried a 1911 while most of the others carried the 9mm Beretta. I prefered the knock down power of the 45.

I was crew on one of those choppers and I still look up when I hear one. It use to be a lot easier telling a military from a civy helicopter by the sound, but living between the Apache mfg. in Mesa, Az. and Luke AFB in Litchfield, Az. They fly over and around me all the time. They are getting so quiet that they are becoming difficult to tell the difference..
