The dealer offered me 38,000 and I was wondering how low do you think I can bring that down?

    Welcome from Detroit Michigan!

We need more info. What is the sticker price? What options does the car have?

Do some research on Truecar.com, gives you the prices in your area of what most people have been paying for a car similarly equipped. Gives you a rough idea of where you should be and then you can work from there.

If you're financing, get something approved from your bank or credit union ahead of time and go in with a rate/loan as backup. If they give you some BS rate or loan, you tell them you have a better offer from your bank, then suddenly they'll magically work out something better than that to get you to finance through them.

Thanks for the reply. The original sticker price was 45,000 but they had it for 39,000 but over email they said they would do it for 38,000. True car has the value at 36,000 but I'm hoping I can go lower, what do you think?

You can double check on the Dodge Build n Price website but it looks like you have @ 3K in options there.

Do you have a trade or is this a straight up purchase? Do you have a target price in mind?

No trade in, I'm going to put 10k down and finance the test. If I can get the car for 32 that would be amazing and would give me peace of mind but idk if that's possible even though some people told me it is. I don't want to go higher than 35

$38000 is a pretty good price.Getting that down to 35,000 would be a great deal but I would be suprized if they go that low..You never know how desperate they are too sell the car.Good Luck!!Hope you get the deal you need..

I don't think they will go down 9k below msrp. It's still new and 2016. Haggle hard for $37k. That would be 17.8% off which is very good for a Challenger. They are selling like hotcakes here.

I'm sure whatever is available in the way of rebates has already been taken into consideration, in the dealers offer of $38K. (And on occasion, their price includes rebates you can't take advantage of. So tread lightly.)

If truecar.com said $36K then typically that is possible and they will refer you to the dealers that will do it for $36K. Of course that's assuming you matched all the options. The best way to know is to see what truecar has for the MSRP. It should closely match the 45,000 for your car.

Tell the people that told you 32 was possible that you'll give them a commission if they find that deal for you. :D

Ask about documentation fees up front as that can vary a lot between dealers and should already be included in the truecar price.

    Good luck!

Typically around here they will drop 4000 off the sticker. They are already 7000 off I'd rap that deal up and call it a day.

    I just looked at Truecar.com.
I don't see how you came up with $36K. With a MSRP of $45k, minus $2K for a rebate, it still comes out to about $40.5K ???
    $38K sounds pretty good.
You could always check other dealers, if you have any nearby.
2016 is drawing to an end soon with the 2017's on their way, so you never know.
