I've noticed that it's very "lurchy" and likes to surge in the mornings until she heats up. Today was first time I've driven it in about 55F and it was terrible.

I read a thread about checking my intake manifold bolts about 1 week back. I highly suspect this is my issue. She runs crappy until warm, then runs like a dream. If it isn't the intake bolts, PCM?

Anything else to look into? This is my second Hemi, but it's been a few years and I've forgotten most of their idiosyncrasies.

Never had a surging issue before. Seems like if you had a vacuum leak from the intake it would run crappy all the time though. How many miles on the car?

Maybe you can try pulling the #2 fuse and see if reseting the adaptives might help?

Ill try the fuse thing.

I see thermal effects all the time on my Submarines. A small vacuum leak when cold can easily seal up when temp changes 100-150F after the motor heats up.

If not either of those, anything else to look at? Would a crappy tune cause these issues? I've had crap tunes in the past, but the car ran like crap all the time

I have one of the 2014 Shaker Challengers. I don't drive my car much more than once or twice a month and it does not get real cold here in Arizona. But when my car is cold and I am slowing down for a stop sign I do get a bit of surging but the car does not run poorly. It occurs only as I slow down for a stop sign. If I push in the clutch, the problem is gone and the car just goes to normal idle.

I get the same thing mentioned above when letting up too. Think it's just from letting off the gas at certain RPM's and it bucking against the momentum of the car or something. But the car does not run bad, and if I push in the clutch as stated above, it's smooth. Only happens sometimes at certain speeds and RPM's.

The check engine light does not come on at all?

No CEL ever. I have 3 scanners and used all 3 to check for latent codes as well

I tightened the manifold bolts a tiny bit. They weren't "loose", but I gave each one a little extra snug down. Motor is still hot from driving home. So I'll test her out tomorrow morning to see if it's any better

I tightened each between 1/4 and 1/2 turn. I think the torque spec is 10 ft-lbs, so they don't need much. The o-ring is sealing, not pressure of compressing like on old school motors

Started her up this morning and zero surge. Butt Dyno says it's running better also when warmed up

I have the same issue. Early mornings when cold. Feels like i am pulsing the throttle until she warms up. I'll have to try tightening the manifold too. Kind of bugs the crap out of me for 5 min then i forget about it the rest of the day.
