My change oil indicator went on today, my oil was changed a month ago and I know for a fact they re-set it. I figured out how to turn it off but any wisdom that can be shared as to WHY it came would be appreciated :4-dontknow:

Thought I would post what the dealer told me since no one here seemed to know, may help someone else. The Indicator is set at the factory to "trip" after so many miles, some of us change oil at different intervals, so depending on when you change it, once the time out occurs on the factory setting it comes on. Bada bing bada bo

Mine is every 2500 miles plus or minus 15. I wonder if this setting can be altered with the starscan ?

Boy does that seem silly to me. Good grief, can't people even be allowed to decide for themselves when to change their oil!

Sure they can,I never get the message after the dealer found out I was at a 3k interval they turned it off.

Maybe that happened to me too. I am also at a 3k interval, so I guess I will ask them next oil change.

According to the manual, it is based on duty cycle, meaning that if you run it harder, it shortens the time. For some reason, mine comes on after almost every time I take the car to the track, even if I have already changed the oil and reset the indicator.
