Got a couple small dents in my hood a week ago from a small tree branch that fell on my hood due to high winds that day. I checked the paint and there were only minor scratches which I was able to get out with scratch remover and wax.

My cousin recommended a place called Dent Krafters which is located in the Metro Detroit area to take out the dents using paintless dent repair. So I lined up an appointment with the guy this afternoon while I was at work.

The guy came right to my work parking lot and he fixed it right there in about 20-30 minutes. He had to break some of those plastic clips that hold the hood insulation pad up but had some spares and replaced them for me afterwards. He just used some different bars and rods and slowly but surely got both dents out completely! Looks like new again!

He charged me $85 for both dents which was a little cheaper than the place I used last time which charged me $99 (used Dent Wizard last time). Turned out great, very happy! Those dents have been bothering me all week, so glad they're gone now!

So if anyone in the Metro Detroit area is in need of some ding/dent removal I highly recommend Dent Krafters. Ask for Mike or Jeremy!

Yeah I was so happy when he was all done and they were gone. I shook the guy's hand and told him he made my day haha! For $85 is was well worth it.

I think I'm going to buy a giant bubble to put over my car when I park it at work. Both dings came from my work parking lot. Got one in the door last year and then these stupid hood dents this year. And I park far away too! Just my luck haha!

Haha yeah, not much you can do about that. Just wax the heck out of your front end whenever you can to give it more protection.

Funny you guys mention stone chips. I think we all get them. I use Dr. Colorchip on my car and like the results. I try my best to avoid situations that can make this happen, but that isn't always possible. Today I did the pocket hose challenge. So far, so good!
Wait till you hear the stupid, old senile thing I did! I had a couple of little rock chips so last week I used the colorchip stuff. You put a dab on the chip, smear it, then wait a few min. to an hr. Then use the liquid they include to wipe off the excess. Well today I noticed a rock chip that I forgot to remove the excess from last week! Wow, that is really losing it! I was able to wipe it down today and it still worked! Lucky me!!

That stuff sounds cool Betty! I have some touch up paint but I haven't used any yet. I have a few small chips here and there but nothing that's very noticeable so I haven't bothered touching those up. That stuff sounds a lot easier to use than just regular touch up paint.

It is Carl!! Works very well. The neat thing is that you smear the dab that you put on the chip and then use the blending solution on a cloth to rub out the smeared paint. Works like a charm! I know there are some threads about this, just search and you should find them.

That's good I had mixed results DR Colorchip so I won't be using it again.

What problems did you have with it? What do you use on your car?

Just was not happy with the coverage, seems it would color some chips but not others.

I only have a couple that are worthy of any touch up paint. The few others are so small they're not really worth bothering with.

I just finished washing and drying my car off in the yard, a nice warm 34 degrees out here! My garden hose wasn't frozen so why not! Turned out great, looks like brand new! I put some wax over the area where the guy fixed the dent too. You can't even tell it was there, so happy with how it turned out! I put some tire gel on my new tires too, looks great!

The dent removal guys are great! I had 3 removed at the beach this summer while on vacation, took him every bit of 35 minutes and you can't tell anything was ever there. I would really like to learn how to do this.
