Diablo Trinity with Razors Edge Gauge Pod

Yesterday I installed the Trinity with a Razors Edge A-pillar Gauge Pod that I purchased from HHP. I put the a pillar in and immediately regretted buying it. The pod is so low that in presses in to the vents on the top of the dash. I pulled it back out, and re-installed it just to make sure I had done everything right. Still pressed in to those vents. I tried installing the trinity in to it, but it doesn't work very well. The trinity is at an angle and the wire doesn't go in very well.

So I called up HHP and they will take a return on it, minus a 15% restocking fee :i_rolleyes:. Called up Speedlogix because they advertise an A-pillar gauge pod that is optimized for the trinity. When I asked the difference, I was told that the pod was moved about half way up the A-pillar to make it work for the trinity. I ordered it on the spot.

I had almost ordered this one originally but I thought the shipping price was outrageous, so I went with HHP for free shipping. In trying to save myself a few dollars I ended up costing myself about 50.00 in the long run. :shakehead: On top of that, Speedlogix said that the online shipping price is auto generated from UPS. If I had just called Speedlogix, they could have shipped it cheaper than the online quote.

On another note, the Trinity works great. Also, removing the stock A-pillar cover was fairly simple. I pulled off the molding just below it first. I just applied firm and constant pressure and it just pulled right off. I then pulled the A-pillar cover off in the same manner.

I routed all the wiring behind the molding so you can't even see it.

This is the 3rd instance I have read recently that Speedlogix can offer cheaper shipping alternatives, but for whatever reason they fail to advertise that on their website. The only thing I can think of is they must have some sort of agreement with UPS not to list alternative shippers such as USPS. It's too bad, because I think Speedlogix is a good company with good people that loses some business because of the sometimes outrageous UPS shipping prices that hurts the value of purchasing through them.

EDIT: Sorry, shouldn't be speculating. I really like Speedlogix the company, and all of the Speedlogix employees. Perhaps the best course of action is to simply ask Speedlogix for alternative shipping choices.
