I'll start it off with some very early history in the Dodge Challenger line-up...

In 1969 the Dodge Challenger was officially introduced to the public. To enhance the introduction at the countries major auto shows, they grabbed the first Challenger produced off the assembly line in Hamtramck, MI and used it as a base for a Concept/Show Car named the Yellow Jacket. This particular car was a specially built triple-black, 4.10 axle ratio equipped four-speed Hemi Challenger that packed the full options list available at the time. The photo's below show this exact car in the promotional photo's taken at the time.

No problemo whatsoever Bill! I watch the shows now to spot all the cool old cars sitting and driving on the streets of Los Angeles. I also like Rockford Files for the same reasons ha ha!
Yep Garner had different years of a Firebird Esprit depending on which Season :) Was a Clean Firechicken...

That's the first thing I did - for about a week...had to quit and actually do some physical activity (housework) eventually because my body told me it's not good to lay around lazing all day. :p

It's funny, my wife will watch The Rockford Files with me, but when Adam-12 or Emergency! is on the tv she finds something else to do. She doesn't like all the sirens blaring on those two shows she says! Must be like The Three Stooges shows I watch, most women can't see the value in watching them. Other than that, she's a great lady!

Hmm Speaking of Emergency aka Squad 51 don't know why but always loved the Squad Vehicle the older one with the White Grille not as much lol.
BTW me and my Girlfriend watch both the Emergency, and Adam-12, Hunter, and many other Classic TV shows together every night. Also got a list of
ones yet to watch.

Just as the major auto manufacturers had concept cars, so did those various companies such as Hurst that specialized in working with the manufacturers to create low-volume specialty cars. Two of the lesser-known Hurst concepts were the Swinging Bee and Merada, based respectively on the Dart Swinger and the Charger R/T and presented to Dodge in March of 1969. Bob Lichty had the full story on the two in SIA #95, October 1986.

Good example of the kind I love...some may not agree, but that period in the 70s sticks in my mind as the "tufted, living room couch on wheels" time period after smog controls came on the scene more heavily. You'd just effortlessly float along smothered in luxury. We missed the performance, but the "land yachts" filled their own special niche market segment...

Good catch! (y)

That's a REV-N-NATOR aftermarket ignition system component by R/T Garage. Not sure if they're in business anymore but that was quite popular back about 10 years of so. Guess it really upgraded driveablity, power and it even had a built-in rev limiter.
