My '09 R/T came with no spare tire at all. Any recommendation for an inexpensive, junkyard "donut" that will fit so I don't have to call a wrecker for just a flat tire?

I'd check Craigslist or the sale forums here. I've seen some spares on Craigslist for our cars before in my area, dealers might have some, etc. At least that way it's one made for a Challenger and you know it will fit.

Otherwise you'd need to find a tire/rim combination that would fit the bolt pattern on our cars which is 5 x 115mm I believe.

You can probably find a new one for less than $100. It would be good insurance. I had to use mine last fall and had to travel 50 miles home after putting it on. You may get stuck quite a ways from help some time and you want something reliable to get you out of trouble.

There should be quite a few inte junkyards by now. Also wheels off ofthe Charger, Magnum and 300's should fit. Don't forget the jack and wrench if you don't have one.

Will a full size spare fit where the donut goes?
If it doesn't fit then I would recommend encasing the full size spare in a tire bag so other items in the trunk don't get messed up. I know that TireRack sells them.A full size spare would provide better piece of mind on a long road trip.

What do the people with spare tyre delete do eg SRT . I know I should no but I'm a very slow reader
They get the Tirefit kit, basically tire goo (sealant) and air pump. Sort of like a glorified bottle of flat fix it. It is supposed to be good as a temporary fix and to allow you to drive up to 100 miles provided you have only a small puncture of course. Other than that you are basically stuck and will have to call/get some assistance.

Not only that, but I heard that the sealant ruins the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) device.

Spares are one of those things you really don't want, but it's better to have one and not need it than...

I have roadside assistance through AAA. Even with a spare in my trunk, I would probably opt to have my Challenger towed on a flatbed wrecker than risk using the spare over any significant amount of distance, or if traffic conditions made changing the tire a little hazardous.

But what if I forgot my mobile phone? All of a sudden carrying that space hogging spare wasn't such a bad idea after all! :D

I am a little vain but I actually bought a matching rim and a tire and keep it in my trunk, I dont mind calling a tow truck but if i am out in the middle of nowhere I would rather have the peace of mind that there is a full spare in the trunk
