Was a nice warm day yesterday in the mid 60's all afternoon! Sure felt good to not wear a coat. The Scat hadn't been started for about a month, and it fired right up, and on the road I went!
Had some errands to run in Rapid City, but I was all done with those by noon! What to do? Well, there is this place north of Rapd City about 20 miles, near Piedmont, SD. It is called Zweifel Motors. It has a small car museum and lots of old cars! How do I know this? Well, a few weeks ago there was a tv show called Roadworth Rescues that aired and a guy who finds old vehicles and gets them running again. He was at Zweifel Motors and the name of this episode was Black Hills Blazer. He took an old Blazer that was parked in the weeds, got it running again, and went off roading in the Black Hills.
I have now watched a few more episodes of his show, and it is just a hoot! He gets these vehicles that you think would NEVER run again, makes them run and his commentary has me laughing the whole way through!
Here is a pic from the trip up:
Lots of melting snow, can't wait for the big green up!
Then I didn't take any pics until I got to Zweifel Motors
This is right along the Sturgis Highway, and I had to pull over in a nice area on the other side of the road to take pics. It didn't look like it was open, as
there was a small rope across the entry, and it was kind of muddy anyway, so I wouldn't have wanted to drive in.
I just started taking some pics of these vehicles from the road.
In this pic you can see the owner, he is coming up and talks to me. I told him I just wanted to take some pics of his cool cars. He of course was super
friendly, insisted that I come on in and look at the cars in the museum. I went back and secured my car on the other side of the road, and off I went for
a great visit and to enjoy some great cars!
When I got there I asked if I could take his pic. I recognized him, as he was also featured in the Black Hills Blazer episode on Roadworthy Rescues!
