Jim that is a beautiful Challenger ....
Thanks MB!!Beautiful and just the right color!!! Enjoy it!!
Thanks & Yes, it's always good to have the toys home, means I'm not shoveling snow.Awesome. Nice to have her home I'm sure! Love the color!![]()
Thanks Chris. Now that’s a car! Needless to say I’m sure a lot of us are a tad bit jealous! Especially being in such amazing shape. That’s awesome. The added comfort and creature features on newer vehicles are nice, but there’s nothing like driving a beauty like that.

Thanks JamesGorgeous car… and yeah just a little, well ok I rephrase that… A LOT jealous!!! Beautiful!!!
Love the story Jim! I don’t get mine out nearly enough but have noticed a lot in my area, there does not seem to be a lot of respect among fellow challenger drivers. Maybe it’s my area and the typical drivers are young and think they have it all and just want to show out/show off. I’ve had a few that I get the thumbs up and grins but that’s typically guys more my age admiring as we check out each others cars cruising the road.Just checking in
Cruising around in the 70 Challenger has been a blast this year so far. The car is running very well and I have met a lot of great folks who appreciate classics and just want to see them up close. I have been asked several times so far to pull into a parking lot for the requester to look over the car and just talk about cars in general.
Sure you run across the normal Ford, Chevy, etc. die-hards that won't even look your way because its not the brand they like, but I did have one "Chevy fan" this past Tuesday night who followed me home (I was getting a little nervous after he followed me for several miles) but as he told me after he got out of his Silverado in our driveway once I got home, he just needed to see the challenger up close and would never admit it to his friends when he was around them, but he has secretly loved challengers since he was a teenager and saw mine and wanted to see it, reminisce, and just talk. Really nice guy, we talked for a long time.
In the 3-4 times I've been out with the 70 already already I've also noticed a high number of 2010-2023 challengers who are either driving on the opposite of the road or a good ways behind me, and the next thing you know they have either caught up to me, or you see then doing a quick turn around to catch up so they can cruise for a while with me. Kind of fun. I did have one idiot with a challenger hellcat who did nothing but goose his next to me egging me on to race instead of just enjoying a nice cruise but over all it's been a blast so far.
I also have people I know who constantly complaining about police, sheriff & state patrols singling them out and picking on them just cause they have a classic and I can say with all our toys and with all my time cruising over the years, I have only have one time where I was singled out and that is because I was being an idiot and goofing around with the car (my 08 vette at the time) so I deserved it. In general LEOs are no different than any one else, they enjoy classics too, heck, a lot of them have classics. I've gotten several thumbs up and several "nice ride" at stop lights from local police this year.
Now I need to get my 2015 Scat pack out of storage and cruise with that a bit.
Enjoy the summer all, I sure am so far.
Jim
Thanks James, I know what you mean, this cruising season so far (season is young) has been a pleasant one with good weather, good people, but I have had seasons in the past where I didn't take any of the cars out that much due people being idiots (rude, disrespectful, bad driving, etc.). I'm hoping the trend continues.Love the story Jim! I don’t get mine out nearly enough but have noticed a lot in my area, there does not seem to be a lot of respect among fellow challenger drivers. Interesting comment about the “ Ford, Chevy etc. diehards “. Back in the day car guys/gals had their favorite brands but would always appreciate/ respect the work /results of any nice car regardless of brand.Just checking in

Yup, exactly. That's why we are not brand biased, we have Fords, Mopars, Chevys, Austin Healy, etc. we cover them all.Interesting comment about the “ Ford, Chevy etc. diehards “. Back in the day car guys/gals had their favorite brands but would always appreciate/ respect the work /results of any nice car regardless of brand.
Something stupid happened along the way.
