For DD - 8 speed vs manual

I just sold my 16 A8 SP Charger for a 19 6 speed WB SP Challenger. The only reason I sold it was because it was an auto. I live in a city with lots of hills and stop lights, don’t matter.

No disrespect to anyone but For me, driving a 3 pedal is driving, its what its all about, trying for that perfect shift every single shift, modulating the sound and feel of the car at will, the 6000++ rpm swinging trapeze act when executed perfectly that brings euphoric sensations, tip toeing off the line at 700 rpms or launching it. 2 hands on the wheel bores me, no matter how fast. Feels like a video game.

That being said, the ZF 8 speed is very very well done. It’s faster than a manual, the car feels a lot faster (more gear changes, stay in the peak of the power band more), and burps the car hard under hard acceleration (very nice). You’ll also get better gas mileage.

You can’t fling this car around like a lighter weight manual car. It’s big and heavy. But it’s still fun. The 6060 does shift very well, with a Barton (still need to install one) it’s even better (for comparison I’ve had T56s, 3550s, currently have a TKO600 in my Nova 3200lbs and 440 rwhp (fun)).

It’s really up to you, can’t go wrong either way. Find a way to Go test drive each and go from there.
