But when you can get out here, there isn't any salt at all. Once the ice melts, then you are good to go! I just really loved driving in the Black Hills on December 30th without anyone there!
I wish they didn't salt our roads, we are remote enough that it would work. Just too many folks out here that insist on driving in the snow without the proper vehicle so I keep my precious ones in the barn. They pour so much salt on the roads they turn totally white when it dries. Have to close all the vents so I do not inhale the kickup. I do have my winter AWD Charger to give me some pleasure to drive to work when I have to in the snow, which is pretty rare. Just need to wash it more often and do know the feeling of waiting to bring out the nice pampered toys. Until recently, also had to make sure the garaged toy's engine didn't give the mice a nice place to live. Peppermint oil and Bounce seems to work very well.

Mid-Europe under heavy snowfall since mid last week... Due to different activities I was not driving Christine for about 2 weeks and I truly miss it.

Today I went to my storage building to do the monthly start-up. Lifted up the cover to hear the thunder .

I don't do start-ups anymore when it is in storage because I have heard that the 5.7 factory cam and lifters fail with extended idling. Not sure if that is born in fact or rumor but I don't want to take the chance.
I will go out every now and then, put the pedal to the metal and crank it a few cycles just to oil things up.
The car will not start with the pedal mashed to the floor but it gets oil in the rotating mass.

I don't do an extended idle........once I hear the engine go to idle RPM, I shut it off.

Jeff, been out of the loop for a few days. But, like you, can't wait for the Spring cruise ahead of us. The Redbud trees, then the Dogwoods. Spring is a beautiful time as the world awakens from it's winter slumber! :)(y)

Jeff, you could find you one of these and the cold and salty roads would not matter. It's the same color so it's close.

That is the closest one I've seen so far. But haven't found a Shaker one yet. Thanks for the heads up (y).

I do have a couple that grace my house. And the RC one is great for ripping carpet 🤠.

I don't even live in snow and I haven't been driving it much.
I had a Google picture I took pop up from two years ago today when it turned 30K.
Two years later and it has 36,600 🫤.

I need to drive it more. I think the last year I've only put on like 500 miles.

That's a coincedence, I was thinking the same thing yesterday! I usually put full insurance back on mine and the wife and I celebrate my birthday in April with a Wakeup Cruise over to the Hot Dog Stand. This winter we've hardly had enough snow to shovel, but IDOT and the city street crews have just poured the salt and liquid brine on at even the slightest whisper of snow. After several good rainstorms in early April I figure I might venture out into the garage and take a peek under the cover at the snoring Lil' Twister...:ROFLMAO:

Drove my junk twice this week...... Unheard of in january in New England. No salt or sand on roads cause we havent got any snow yet its miraculous smfh.

Not sure why "Rain" is so bad for ones car lol im pretty sure it gets really WET when I wash it jus sayn..... Dont drive in rain cause I get no traction but otherwise rain doesnt really hurt anything lol.

In fact, I powerwash it so I pressurize water getting into every little crevasse without issue...... Pretty sure rain water doesnt do that lol.

I'm starting to feel upbeat.

It's the middle of January and I know in less than eight weeks I'll be back on the streets 🤠. This is my third year of storing during Iowa winters and I'm grateful that I can, cuz I wouldn't want it any other way.

A few weeks of this......... View attachment 317706
Will turn into this in no time
