So I've always had the mod bug for as long as I could pick up a tool. I've been looking into all kinds of things to do to my new challenger lately. Exhaust is on the top of my list but I'm waiting to see what cat back systems are a verified fit on the 2015 model. Dyno tune is next on the list but I don't believe anyone can tune 2015's yet. So I've been looking into small bolt on stuff, mainly the front strut tower brace. I wanted to ask anyone here who has one installed if they noticed any difference. A guy I know has one installed on his G8 and he says it was like night and day through turns.

I have the super track pack package on my car which comes with a different "sport" suspension and I've been able to take pretty tight turns up to 70mph with very little body roll. So is the brace worth it? Also did anyone go with the $350 mopar brace or with a less expensive aftermarket brace?

Thanks in advance.

I have the MOPAR front one and I think it is a wise choice to have one regardless who you decide to buy from! Enjoy the Journey! Lou.

I have both front and rear braces from REM/Speedlogix and have been happy with both of them. I think braces are an easy mod that's well worth the money.

got mine from Richard Petty's Garage, fit great and color macth was perfect. Its lightweight and very strong. No drill completely bolt on.

Fabrication Details
----------------------------------------------------------------
This Strut Tower Brace is made from the highest quality of materials available. The 4130 Chromoly .049 wall tubing was chosen based on the weight to strength requirements. This raw material is hand bent and TIG-welded by race seasoned fabricators under the direction of "The King" who personally approved its performance on the LX and LC Chassis. Do not be fooled by heavy braces. Many other strut bars on the market are poorly fabricated aluminum and weight up to 12 lbs! The strut tower bar by Petty's Garage weighs only 3.5 lbs and is stronger per pound than its competitors.

I just ordered a Speedlogix (Razors Edge) front strut brace a couple weeks ago when they had a sale on them. Should arrive sometime this week, they were backordered for a short while.

Everything I read on them before pulling the trigger on mine said they improved handling, steering, cornering and were well worth it.

I liked the Speedlogix one since it replaced the stock bar which really isn't a brace anyway, just a bar to mount stuff to. Seemed like a pretty sturdy and effective piece.

The Mopar and others out there seem nice as well but mount to the stock bar. Those are much easier to install since all you do is bolt it on in a few minutes vs removing the stock bar then adding the brace in its place.

To me $350 is kind of pricey for a metal bar. Speedlogix had a sale on their bars for $240. Think they're $299 regular price. The Petty's Garage one is under $300 as well I believe. The Mopar ones are nice but I think you pay more just for the name and stuff is all.

I almost bought the speedlogix till I saw the instructions and saw you have to bolt the windshield wiper to plus attach the plastic trim to it, not a huge deal but just didn't want to modify all that for a strut bar. Besides when I bought mine they weren't on sale lol

I read some threads on installing the Speedlogix bar and most guys said you don't need to unbolt the wipers or anything. You just move the wiper motor off the stock bar and mount it onto the new bar I believe. Some guys even found ways to leave the plastic trim in place, though it's not too hard to remove with the right tools (plastic trim removal tools, less than $10 from Harbor Freight, etc)

I can't speak from personal experience yet though since I haven't installed mine yet. Once I get it and get it installed I'll post up a thread on how the install went and stuff. It's definitely more involved than a Mopar type bar, but I don't think it's overly complicated either based on what I've read.

I installed the Speedlogix brace and I don't think it took me 30 min. Once it is installed you don't see much of the brace, it tucks away where the factory brace was.
You will notice the difference in how the car handles.

What did you have to remove to get it installed? Just curious as some remove a bunch of stuff and others seem to get away with not removing much of anything. I read one thread where the guy didn't even remove the plastic cowl piece, just lifted it up some to slide the new bar in.

It has been a few years that i did that instal but for the most part only the factory bracewas remove and not reused. The wiper motor stays in place and gets attached to the new brace. The instruction that came with the brace was on the money.

Ok cool man, thanks for the heads up!

How much of a difference did it make with handling and cornering? Did it feel different just driving normally down the road too taking bumps and stuff or no? Just curious what to expect once I get mine installed. Sounds like most people on here said they noticed a difference.

I didn't take the cowl off for my install so it was a pretty fast and easy install for me. The main difference I felt with the front bar was the car responding faster to turning into a corner, lane change, swerving to avoid something etc. It wasn't a huge difference but it was there. The rear strut brace made the car feel much more planted to me it really felt like I could push the car a lot harder into a corner or tight clover leaf before the tires would protest or the car would feel unsteady. I installed the front bar first so I'm not sure what it would feel like to only install a rear brace.

Cool! Glad to hear all the positive results! Now I just have to wait for mine to arrive and a decent day to install it. Only 11 degrees here today and going near 0 tonight. Not good weather to be outside working on the car haha!
