so the 392 cam has to be installed with a phase limiter in the 5.7, even tho it's has full VVT function in the 392?

    interesting...

Being that the 392 cam is a bigger cam....I'm betting that the VVT tables in the 392 PCM are different than the 5.7......hence the need for the phase limiter.

I think Im almost done with the tuning. Maybe one more data exchange with Johan and it will be good. Once complete I will take it to a dyno. Its feeling pretty speedy and definately has more torque. Overall I am pleased and glad I did the work. Runs great

great information. I have been dreaming supercharger also but this is interresting. I also use as my daily driver and I have heard a supercharger doesn't affect MPG unless you are getting on it. How has this affected your MPG?

the cam upgrade kills the MPG. Which is the main reason I am re-thinking cam vs forced induction.
The Challenger isn't my daily driver, but I would like to retain the 28 mpg highway as I take long trips from time to time.

I like to playsome times but I don't like paying for it ALL the time. LOL

I don't think so, I've read where shophemi has installed this cam with out the need for the phaser.

A lot of good information here. I am also thinking of doing this mod, I have the exhaust to support the cam, and will upgrade to an 87 mm throttle body. I would like to see some #s on a dyno. BacknBlack did you get any before #s?

That's correct, I believe WilliamsRT has one installed by Arrington with out the phaser.

Hate to gravedig, however did you advance the cam timing when you did this? Currently doing the same upgrade, however can't seem to find if others have advanced the timing or not. Seems like its popular on the 5.7 to 6.1 conversion to advance about 4*, however haven't seen any info on this regarding the 5.7 to 6.4.

    Thanks in advance
