Thanks brother. The issue is this, my machine shop has my short block and are building my 426 from a new 6.4 block but i will be using my factory heads. Well the machine shop is saying these look like apache heads and i told him no they should be eagle heads... I guess they need to know this because of the stroker kit i ordered as the pistons are coming close to hitting the valves .

Is there anyway i can exactly find out if they are eagle or apache ?

As far as I know the 2009-current 5.7L use Eagle heads and the 6.4L from 2011-current uses Apache heads. Here's an article from Hot Rod talking about the various head types that have come on the various generation/sizes of modern Hemis:

http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/ccrp-1210-inside-the-g3-hemi-cylinder-head/

They refer to the 2009-current 5.7L heads as Eagle heads.

I would check with your machine shop on that, doesn't seem right that your car would have Apache heads on it from the factory.

Is there a stamping number on the heads? I know on my old small block Chevy heads they had stamping/casting numbers on them. Maybe you could get that from them and look it up or call Dodge with that informtion?

Seems like the machine shop ought to know their stuff about heads and stuff, seems a little scary they are asking you what the heads are, they should be able to figure it out either using the internet like me or by prior work experience.

How are they identifying them as Apache heads though? Casting number? Valve size, chamber design, etc? Maybe some did come with Apache heads, just seems like all the information I've seen so far says Eagle heads on 5.7L and Apache heads on 6.4L.

Easy answer...exhaust manifold gaskets from a 5.7 would be too small for a 6.4...
