Fairly new to the forum, joined about a ago, and enjoy seeing the diversity of different Challengers, modifications and accessories.
I hope the LX platform lasts a few more years.
I live in Sussex County NJ where it's very hilly. The road to my house has a 254' elevation from the highway a 1/4mile away and I've always bought either Jeep vehicles or AWD mopars cars.
I bought new a 2006 Chrysler 300C with a 5.7 Hemi and AWD. So I knew the LX platform could handle a Hemi and AWD drive configuration. When it hit 120,000 on the odometer I traded it in for a 2014 Chrysler 300 with Pentastar V6 and AWD. The V6 was pretty peppy and fantastic in deep snow.
I wanted a Challenger when they first came out but was disappointed there was no AWD options which I needed. I was aesthetic when I heard they were going to finally add AWD to the Challenger, but a little disappointed I couldn't get a Hem Challenger with AWD.
So regardless of the lack of a Hemi I traded the 2014 Chrysler 300 for a new 2017 Challenger GT V6 and AWD with a beautiful Contusion Blue paint job and White Leather interior! I picked it up from the dealer in a 14" snow storm and it chugged along and spit out the snow just like my Chrysler 300's.
Sharing a few pictures of my Challenger including one with the Challenger sharing stable space with my 65 Mustang Convertible
Thanks for having me on the forum with other passionate Challenger owners!
All the best,
Gary Schultz
