I used to work for U.S. Customs Aviation now called U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. I now work for the company that supplies a lot of their helicopters. I make regular trips to the southern border of Texas. The last time I went to McAllen, TX, last week, I was told not to take the border Highway to get to Laredo because, in short, there may be too many illegals in the area. So I went the long way to Laredo. This strongly worded advice came from two individuals, one was a high ranking Customs and Border Patrol agent (a GS-15) and the other from a Texas DPS State Trooper. You need to see the bus stations in McAllen and Laredo, they were packed with illegals last week.
