I would bet by 2016 with a "for off road use only" disclaimer.
Oh for off road only of course...heheheI would bet by 2016 with a "for off road use only" disclaimer.
Yes ....sorry that would be Canadian....so what around 15 -16,000 USYour talking Canadian I hope Rob!!
I'm not so sure about that. First off...Chrysler worked with a company that I don't believe you can order this supercharger from. It is superior design in some ways to what you can buy aftermarket and was specked by the engineers at Chrysler just for the Hemi. Then there is the one of a kind heads and gaskets. Almost everything in this engine from oil squirter relocation to pistons is one of a kind. If you take the time to read this you will see that even if you could build this engine...it would be WAY expensive!!Probably cheaper to build than buy.
BINGO!!!!....The price and when???...who knows...but this engine is a very special animal....not even comparable to what everyone else can sell you or build you IMO. When a big brain trust like they have at Chrysler...with all the resources they have at their disposal is given the green light on a project like this...and then told it has to last at least 100K miles of abuse...the Hellcat is what you get.A 850HP n/a Chev big block crate can be had for about $28K. The Hellcat is an all newly engineered animal from top to bottom. The engineer's at Chrysler didn't use off-the-shelf performance parts with a bored block to get the end result.....I'm guessing minimum $40K if you want one delivered to your door....JMO
It sounds like Chrysler did to the Hellcat engine what GM did to the LT-5 for the older ZR-1's. GM teamed up with Lotus and in the end had Brunswick Marine in Wisconsin build the entire engine. If Brunswick Marine sounds familiar, it's who builds Mercury outboards. At the time they were the only company that could economically build a completely aluminum engine (heads and block) and were the experts in aluminum engine building. Everything about the LT-5 is unique to that engine, the heads are $5000 a piece. I looked into buying an older ZR-1 a few years back and re-examined my thought process when I realized I have not seen too many 1990 1995 ZR-1's running around. They also made a finite number of replacement engines. After reading the Hot Rod piece, the Hellcat sounds dangerously close to a very exclusive engine like the LT-5. I hope Chrysler does make an after market Hellcat crate engine, it would be nice to put one in my R/T….I'm not so sure about that. You'll need to provide a link to this.Wow... You guys are out of touch. A complete Hellcat crate engine is already available from Mopar performance. List is around 19k. I saw this a couple of days ago.
