My chally is a 2013 SXT first I was curious if a parts car factory spoiler is worth 100 bucks same paint and all? And is it difficult to install myself or is it better to have a shop install it? I get nervous when I have to drill holes on new paint. Also if mine didn't come from the factory with a spoiler installed will installing one eventually lead to any rust issues either in the corners or inside the trunk? Is there anywhere I can download or see a template of how to install one? Thanks.

Usually the aftermarket spoilers come with a template. I have not installed one on a Challenger but I did on a Charger it was pretty easy, you just have to take your time and be careful.

i just installed a factory rear spoiler on my sons challenger, very easy. when you lift the trunk you'll see at the edges 2 rounded indents, drill those out to 3/8 . the spoiler has 2 studs with black tip nuts on it. they fit right thru the holes you'll drill and screw them down hand tight then do a turn with a pair of channel locks. the factory spoiler does have plastic incerts that you would need to drill out to push thru the trunk. i threw them away. went to autozone and put double sided 3m tape on the underside of the spoiler to help hold it down and not let it move around. its a very simple mod. 10 minutes max if you decent with your hands

Double sided tape! Never thought about that. I do get a bit of water trapped between the body and the fin. I must agree .. easy mod. Template hole is already built into the trunk lid. Drill out the holes and it pops in. Tighten the bolts. Voaila!

how has the double sided 3m tape held up so far over past 3yrs? thinking of using the tape for my wing king spoiler.
Thanks

I used double side tape on my Spoiler King spoiler. It should do the trick. My car is not a daily driver, but since you didn't have a factory one already, several strips spaced equally should keep it in place. Touch paint the holes you drill. Then a dab of clear silicon on the hole.

A $100 for factory spoiler is great ! $ 15- $20 bucks for heavy duty tape for a total of $120 out of pocket , two holes is great. Especially if you just wanted to add a spoiler . Heck , for another $10 you could flex paint it black and have a low cost " exterior mod ". Be sure to put a coat of wax and polish on the trunk before install.
