Last month I removed my rather attractive catch can on my 392 and I'm not sure if I'll ever put it back on.
I am afraid it provides some obstruction to crankcase ventilation at WOT. I have some reasons.
1) A video of a healthy 392 at the end of a dyno run spewing crankcase gasses out of small air filter that was fitted to
the diver side ventilation tube. So there are strong crankcase pressures at WOT.
2) My car had some oil residue at the catch can inlet. The tube snaps on and I suppose I could finagle some plumbing tape
to seal it better, but still. And there was some oil residue on the air filter from the engine-air vent on the driver side. This all
happens after a couple hundred miles.
3) There was only a tablespoon or two in the catch can between oil changes. People I follow say it only captures about 40 % of
the stuff. And the intake manifold will get oily with or without the catch can.
