Well not sure if this the right place for this or not but basically I just wanted to say thank you. In the short time that I have been here (after an even shorter time somewhere else and receiving a lifetime ban for simply sticking up for someone I don't know) you all sure have been awesome and quite supportive.

I have received PM's and emails from some of you regarding my vision loss situation and I have to say just how much it means to me and my wife as well to know that there are complete strangers out there that actually care about other people whom they have never met and most likely never will.

One thing that has happened to me throughout this adventure is I have become quite the sentimental old big guy lately and it sounds corny and such but I have to say it, but thank you so much for the kind words.

Most of us have been through one thing or another in life and we all know how much it means when people send that PM or email etc. just to say hi or to ask how we are doing etc. It actually means more than some people might realize.

So again thank you to those who have and for those who have sent words of encouragement, prayers etc. I would like for everyone here to know just as I have told friends and family from day one, I have been incredibly blessed and very fortunate throughout most of my life. Although born blind in one eye I was able to over come that and looking back it did cause issues for me as a kid, but I never realized until just a few years ago when looking back on my childhood etc.

The poor vision also hampered my schooling and I did not continue school after high school. Again, this was never associated with my vision issues until just a few years ago. However, I went on to own and operate a construction company right out of HS for several years with the help of my wonderful wife before moving into a career in training/marketing/motivational speaking.

At one point in my construction career I attended a Zig Ziglar seminar for a week and he and I hit it off quite well. Next thing I know I was on stage with the master himself giving presentations before national audiences and then working for Circuit City Corp HQ for several years. Then on to RCA, Xerox, Cannon and a few others.

So the bottom line is no matter what cards you are dealt as many before me and many aft have and will prove, there are always ways to deal with what life gives you. I have no right to complain. If I wake up tomorrow and can not see a thing. I will simply look towards the sky and simply say thank you and start the day off with a new batch of challenges to work out.

So again, thank you for the kind words and concern and thanks for having and putting up with me here as well. Ultimately there will come a day when I will be here more than I will be behind the wheel. Until then, expect to continue to see lots of mod pics, cruising pics etc.

Thanks for such a great place to hang out! I will be joining the forum as a paid member soon as well. It's kinda cool having a badge up top, thanks for the photo award to boot!

a very heart felt write up, sir...

i am a member of 5 different forums and i can say hands down, with out a doubt that this is THE best one... we come from all walks of life but have come together with a common bond, the Dodge Challenger... most members view this forum as a family, and families stick together through the good times and bad... many if not most of us have never met one another but we share our loves and our passions with each other... what's more amazing is the outreach of the members to those of us who have lost a loved one, have become ill, those who have had to sell a vehicle or had an accident... we all feel a little bit of that persons pain because of our common bond, understanding, and compassion of one another... and i think when one loses, a little bit of us goes with them... we're all here for now, you never know about tomorrow... life can change in the blink of an eye... watch out for each other, stay in the left lane as long as you can, and enjoy the ride...

Reps to you sir!

In this day and age, it seems like there's more problems in this world than ever before, but every day I thank God for all of the blessings He has given me. God gives us obstacles and sufferings to overcome all of the time, but never more than we can handle if we trust in Him and ask for His help. When he closes a door, He will eventually open a window.
Always be grateful for what you have, cause it could always be worse.

Anyway, I agree!....this is a great forum and I'm glad to be here with all of you nice folks!!!

Very nice write up!!
Already took the ole girl out for a cruise this morning. Another good day indeed! A very chilly 50 degrees here this AM, feel bad for the bikers today, somewhat chilly only a high of 65 but CLEAR and SUNNY!
This Forum is amazing....full of great information, but first and foremost it's the people here that are incredible. We come from all walks of life, but we are kinda like a family here. I have been following you and your journey with your Challenger since you joined. You're story is an inspirational one and I look forward to every one of your posts. You have such a great outlook on life! This Forum is lucky to have you! Thanks for the great write-up.
Very well put!

I too am a member of other car and truck forums and this forum is the best one hands down. It is people like yourself, and others that make it worthwhile.
It's members such as yourself that make this the place it is today.

Wow! How can I possibly add much to what every comment has been so far. I personally don't belong to any other car forums simply because I have no interest after having checked them out a few times. This is THE place for me.
I would simply like to say that I second every heartfelt comment so far. And just to add a pinch to Oilslick's.....If ever those famous words "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" ...come true, then and only then will the problems all of us have, be gone forever.
Its obvious from the relatively short time you've been here that you get what this forum is all about.I've enjoyed your posts and wish you nothing but the best.

Whew - sire that post was awesome. I can see how you were a motivational speaker. I hope and pray that this condition takes a very long ttime to evolve. In the meantime - enjoy it all as long as you are able.
funny you talk about the Z, I am trying to get my co worker who just brought a chally to join, Z up.
Well said - its a great on-line family, and even funner when you get to hook up in-person with folks on cruises, charity drives, meet and greets, and other cool stuff we do!

Plus as many have already said, i think there is a genuine caring attutide among the folks here that I dont always see elsewhere. The only other forum that I participate in that comes close is the Factory Five group that does Shelby Cobra cars. All of the others are more just matter of fact forums - good enough in their own right, mostly for info - but not the close family atmosphere I was looking for, and I found here!
It is us that are lucky to have folks like yourself to belong to the Z.
