I have a 2014 Challenger R/T and I am looking at options for a CAI. I found this K&N and like the oil-free feature. (http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes/kn-71-series-blackhawk-air-intake-system) it says it is "custom fit" for my year model of car. In searching I found it says on some sites it is made for the 6.4l engine and doesn't mention my 5.7l. Will I be able to use this intake with my car? If not, I am looking for an oil-free solution and would like to find one that replaces the air duct so I wont have the resonator anymore. Thanks in advance for the help, I am new to this stuff.

Very nice looking intake... unfortunately for you its specific for the 6.4 engine. The 6.4 has a different intake and the throttle body is at a 45 degree angle. As far as recommended intakes that are oil free... there are plenty out there. Depending on your budget :

-Mopar cold air intake $387(ebay)
(This is just a bunch of intakes for the 5.7)
Are you looking for performance or style?
you most likely will not gain anything. If your just looking to get rid of the resonator you could go with the charger intake tube... inexpensive same design just no dumb looking resonator.

Hope this helps

To be honest I am looking for a better sound. I am ordering the Blastin Bobs resonator delete kit (http://www.blastinbob.com/Dodge_Challenger_5_7L_resonator_eliminator_kit_p/250ce.htm) and to go along with it I am looking for a intake of some sort that would compliment that. I would say my budget would be up to $300 and would like the best sound for the money. I know sound is a preference, I am looking for a deep growl. I saw lots and lots of options for the 5.7 but honestly I am lost.

I have the BB's reso deletes and i love it. However its a little quieter than i want it to be so i will probably replace the mufflers with super 44s. But as far as intakes go. I know air raid has very very good reviews. I know a few people that have them and are happy with them. Also The R2C is said to have the most performance gain. I went with the mopar intake because i think it just looks more unique over the other intakes. Overall its not going to give a big noticeable difference in performance and very little in sound. It may give a slight deeper exhaust note. It all comes down to your preference on how you want it to look and what you want to spend.
