Hello folks, been a while since I last posted. Lot of life drama going on in between. Anyway, I recently had to change the original car battery in my 2017 scat. After I competed the work and "booted" everything back up, I found that both my key fobs would not work with the lock/unlock, trunk and panic button functions. I can still start the car but had to push the start button with the remote the first time. I have spen a bunch of time on the internet searching for answers on how to reprogram my remotes as well as doing a knowledge search here on the forumz. I found a couple of things but it goes to a dead link for tricks and tips where someone is asking for a donation.

Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, how did you resolve the key fob function issue? I know I can take it to the dealer but dont want to get hosed for labor on something I could do myself.

That is how a low battery in the key fob would act.

Yea, just replace the key fob battery. I just had my 2.5 year old battery go bad. I replaced the battery then had issues with the fob. I replaced it's battery and both work fine now. Right after the car battery replacement, The windows wouldn't roll all the way up. For whatever reason, these issues all resolved over night. I have a 2017 also.

Check and make sure the Battery is not installed upside down.

Sometimes these batteries are shelved a long time before being purchased and loose voltage over time, that's just a fact of life.
Since you did not have these issues before the battery change, it is the FOB battery causing it, no gremlins have attacked your car!

It is possible to get a brand new battery that is below voltage the CR2032 requirement, which is labeled as 3V but a brand new 2032 battery is usually 3.30V and an actual 3.00v is borderline and not good, lower than 3v will malfunction in the FOB. So take it back apart and check the battery voltage with a multi meter you want above 3v anywhere from 3.05 ~ 3.30v will be good, with the 3.30 lasting a lot longer. Ry
