Hi . I want to change my stock reverse lights on my 2012 with LED's . I got out all the fastner I can see but the assembly wont budge . I'd like to take the whole assembly out from side to side and put LESD's in for the signl ights too . It almost looks like glue holding the top part of the lens . I tryd prying on it gently so I wouldn't break the lens , So what am I doing wrong ? Thanks . BooBoo

There are 4 wing nuts, 2 push pins to remove. What most miss is a small plastic panel on each side of the light that covers a torx screw that needs to be removed before the light assembly will come out. It's also usually stuck so just loosen the wing nuts a little bit and tap with a hammer to break loose after removing the rest.
You can go on the Web Electrics web site and look at the instructions for installing the sequential tail light harness. They give you step by step instructions for removing the tail light assemblies.

Thank you sir , came rite apart . However I got another problem . I thought I,d be able to take the lens apart from the backing part (the reflective part) . I wanted to put the LED strips in place of the bulbs by slicing into the wires for the bulbs . I see now that the 2 halfs dont come apart unless you know away of doing it . I got to get up a 5:00 am to go to work . Do you know of a way to get those 2 halfs apart so I can use the strips instead of the bulb . I wont be able to get the bulbs till tomorro but I have the strips now . Thanks ,,,,, need help bad ! BooBoo .
I've not heard of anyone taking them apart but I guess you would have to cut them.
