Hello & welcome from WI!

A few things may cause this.
First I would say replace the battery in the FOB.
Also, pop out the button that you push to start. It just pops out really easy using a small flat blade screwdriver.
You insert your FOB (the rectangular front end opposite the split ring - do not use the metal key that is inside the FOB) into the hole and it acts as a key. You can start the car with the 'key' just like the old days..... This should re-link the FOB to the car.

Welcome to the Z from Maryland. Enjoy the site.

Remove the start button. It just pops out of the hole and insert the fob like a normal key.
