Is anyone running the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires? How do you like them? If not what are you using? I have a 2012 SRT8 with the F1 super car tires. I don't drive in the winter or rain, unless I get caught out somewhere. I am going to need to replace the rears in the spring, may do all four. Thanks

Thank You. I have just over 11000 miles and the rears are down to 3/32. I never do burnouts, but I do accelerate and corner hard. I'm happy with the grip but thought they would last longer.
I was looking at tire rack and the wear rating is a little higher on the Michelins than the Goodyear F1's. I don't want to sacrifice to much grip. The F1's have a 220 wear and Michelin's are 300. I thought this means the Pilot Super Sports are a harder compound , and therefore wear slower.
I'm not to concerned with cold or wet weather handling, car is seldom used in these conditions.

I just bought a set of Yokohama A/S 245 s same as factory sizing. On the comparison charts they rank right with the Michelin Pilot Sports and exceeds the PS in some areas and defers to the PSs in other areas. They both rated 100% on chart. The difference is the Yokos are $ 94.00 cheaper per tire. TheYokos are rated 149 MPH while the Michelins are rated 186 MPH .They gave me $300.00 for the Goodyear F1s which were worthless in our climate and the new ones qualified for a $150.00 rebate.

My father had them on his stingray, AMAZING TIRES!!!!! I would not hesitate to put them on my challenger if i didnt drive it so much. Incredible grip, just have to wam them up on cold days but from what you've said it shouldn't matter.

So far, I'm very happy with my michelin pilot super sport tires. i can't speak to the lifespan, however, since i've only driven on them for about 5-6k. They're not cheap but they grip nicely. If it turns out they need to be replaced as quickly as many have complained in the past, I might consider the yokohamas. However, so far, so good. We'll see in a few weeks when i put them back on (and shleve the bizzaks).

Whew - just looked at the Michelin Pilot SS prices at Tire Rack - I'm not sure the difference in tread wear warrants changing from the F1's. My guess would be that there would not be that much difference in grip or performance. For $300/tire they better balance and mount themselves!

I am on my second set of F1's and have had no issues (other than the short(er) tread wear. My first set lasted about 18k miles. In rainy weather I haven't had any issues except when my first set was on their last lap and I driving back from Florida in torrential rains. It got hairy a couple of times in deep puddles. Slowing done cured that. :D

I just got the 255 super sports a couple months ago and dang they are quite a significant improvement. I was shock actually. I have a pcp rt class and in the rain i could get 1st and 2nd gear to spin when i floored it and now it just sticks and pulls. It was ridiculous really the difference, unless i floor it off the line then seem to have a death grip on the road...actually i was a little bummed bc getting the tires to spin in the rain on command was a lot of fun but now i can launch harder which makes up for the fun factor in a different way

I'm much happier with the Supersports over the F1's. All I did with the Goodyears was spin them. That was before the supercharger. I do think in t he looks department, I like the F1's better, but I'll let someone else look good behind me. My next set of rubber will probably be the Nitto street drags to give them a shot. The sets after that will be my fave of those two.
