I found this picture of the P5155284AB on a 2016 Challenger. Considering the boot hole is around 3/4" on the later models, is there anyone that's been successful getting it to slide over the 1 1/2" short shifter base? I know the o-ring will have to be cut
Evidently no one has put this on with the newer console. The boot hole is smaller than the 2014 and back and I don't know how they accomplished the one in the picture. If someone can tell me the width of the Barton shifter base, at the boot, after you cut the o-ring, then I might get an idea whether I can get 1 1/2" of stretch to go over the Mopar shifter
Just finished the job and in fact the boot does not have to be cut. I just wet the leather at the hole and it slid over the shifter base. Still was tight but it can be reversed without buying a new boot. I had the short adapter prior to this and the mopar is slightly shorter and the shift points feel better for some reason, possibly because of the robust construction.
