so i have a 2013 challenger rt with the 6-speed. this is my first stick shift car so i did learn how to drive manual on this car. i learned pretty quick and never fried my clutch.

however, i have been doing a lot of races as of late and my clutch has been a little upset with me... i shift really quickly and dump the clutch hard during roll races and/or races from a dig. the clutch has minor slippage every now and then, which are signs that i might have to swap out the clutch in the near future.

my question is, how much are the stock oem clutches going for? and will i be able to get it from anywhere other than the dealership for a lower cost?...
i would much appreciate it if someone could help me out.

The threads I've seen on here seem to be anywhere between $1200-$1800 at the dealership for new parts and labor installed. Hopefully someone who actually had theirs replaced will chime in for you.

By your own admissions, sounds like you're pretty hard on your clutch. That being said, I think putting an OEM setup back in may be a waste of money. A heavy duty Ram or McLeod setup may hold up to your type of driving better. They would better hold up to the abuse.

Being that your location is LA, I would find a good, reputable performance shop and ask their advice and estimate.

yes i have seen the previous posts which say that people have replaced the clutch for 1200-1800$ but that seems a little pricey to me. i was just wondering if there are any places other than the dealership i can get a new clutch installed for a lower price.

Maybe just try calling around at some local shops near you. I have a shop near me that I take my Nova to for different stuff I can't do on my own, they do great work and charge reasonable rates, etc. Might be a shop near you that specializes in modern muscle type cars that would be cheaper maybe?

About 2,000 sounds about right. Just to take the transmission out and inspect the clutch runs around 1,000 at about any shop here. Add the cost and labor of replacing the clutch....

The going rate for shop in California is between 80.00 and 100.00 an hour for labor.

Agreed with above posts - get a McLeod HD clutch. As the saying goes, you can pay 'em now or you can pay 'em even more later....

There are a lot of vendors on this site that I am sure will be willing to swing you a deal on a Ram or McLeod kit.... Keep it in the family if ya can. That way on the phone you can just shop labor costs.
