I did,FCA reps are about useless and tell you each time you call that they will expedite the case and a manager will call you in 3-4 days and it goes on and on. Next time will be lawyer time.Once you finally do talk to a mgr things work pretty fast with the refund anyway.I've dealt with GM and Ford and never will I deal with FCA idiots again. They lie to you every chance they get.

Can't blame you at all for feeling the way you do. Once someone treats you that way, it is no going back.

I'm surprised we have not heard more of this over the past years.

I wonder if they have any idea what percentage of the cars, in the range of years, could be affected by this problem.? I suppose they wouldn't know. Only that the potential problem exists.
I've had my 2011 Dodge Charger for 6 1/2 years with no signs of a problem that I'm aware of.

I hear 1.3 million FCA vehicles with electro-hydraulic steering have alternator problems because of electrical load.Cheap diodes in alternator is all it is

440,000+ vehicles is the figure being posted most places.

Paid a visit to my dealership today, customer service rep. said it will be March or April before parts are available, I told him I am starting to loose faith in Dodge, he said all the manufacturers use one supplier, I don"t believe that. I will call an alternator shop that I use and see what he thinks about replacing the diodes.

It sucks and I am in the same situation. I don't really blame Dodge, they didn't build the alternators. I'm sure their is only a couple of suppliers. Look at the airbag recall, they supplied lots od manufactures. I blame it on Chinese crap.

I'm just curious, if you purchased one from the auto store and dodge is reimbursing you are they going to also repair it at no charge?

I'm losing faith also......I have my Challenger and a new Power Wagon about to take them back to the dealership.
After reading your post about the parts not being here until March or April I contacted NHTSA and filed a complaint about how long the remedy is taking. Not sure if it will accomplish anything but the timing for this repair is ridiculous. Been unable to drive my car since August. Not that it would be driven in the winter but usually in March or April I can get it back out.

I was told that they will still do the recall.

Interesting because they told me I could choose to do one or the other. Hopefully, they stand behind what they told you.

Maybe I should have kept my reps name.

I called my local dealer yesterday, asked if they had the parts and they said they did, but id have to pay out of pocket and that I'd get reimbursed, they also said the recall is still on notice that they're not doing the work under the recall I think they're bullshitting me!

Yea... That's BS... Had mine done a little while back and absolutely no charge... It's a recall.

If it is any indication, I traded my 2012 R/T Classic for a Ram 1500 in early November. When I traded they were apparently unaware of the recall. My Challenger sat on the back row of the lot waiting on an alternator for two months. I was back at the dealer today and asked about the car. They said that they sold it at auction because they could not get an alternator and could not sell it without making the repair required by the recall. I did a VIN search and it is now for sale at an independent dealer.
