Been taking to dealer for lifetime oil changes. Usually every 6 months, it never goes the full 6000 miles. Last change was in April, got in it this morning and I got oil change required message. Can someone tell me why? Thanks Jim

The algorithm used by the computer takes driving habits, mileage and time into account. If you haven't been driving more aggressively since the last change, I would suspect that your dealer may not have reset the oil change indicator on the last visit.

Just for reference:

To turn off the message temporarily, press and release the TRIP ODOMETER button on the instrument cluster. To reset the oil change indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) perform the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not
start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times
within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the engine, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat these steps.
