Okay…I know this is a little extreme, but has anyone actually put a BLANKET over their car to keep warm during the winter. I'm being very serious right now lmfao. It's a bit embarassing to admit how much I love my car, but think about it. I don't have any heating in the garage and just TODAY the temperature was down to -4*F ! That can NOT be good for the car.

I have a queen size 100% wool blanket in my trunk that I keep for emergency use only. Would that be good to keep my baby warm and safe from extreme cold weather?

Don't worry too much. It gets to 15 to 20 below here quite a lot and my Challenger is just fine. My garage has insulation, but it is not heated. Most of the time it stays above freezing in there, but on occasion it will freeze a bucket of my dog's water!

Only if you provide a heat source under the blanket—or, if your Challenger happens to be warm-blooded—will a blanket help keep it warm.

The blanket would serve you better if you wrapped it around yourself when you go to look at your car in the garage, won't do anything for the car. The car will be fine in the cold.

I put a sweater on my Challenger once. By the next morning, the Challenger had managed to pull of the sweater and chewed it to shreds.

No, wait...

That was my dog.. ;)

But in all seriousness, a wool blanket has rough fibers that can cause micro scratching or marring to your paint if you pull it off as opposed to lifting it off your car. Nothing super serious, just annoying once you see the brushed pattern in sunlight.

Better to use a car cover with a microfiber lining.
