Well I ordered on the first day, Sept 9, 2014 and I still do not have build date so they could be correct.
I think your dealer is jerking you around.Well I ordered on the first day, Sept 9, 2014 and I still do not have build date so they could be correct.
I'm pretty sure the dealer is not jerking me around unless the fact they have gotten no allocations is considered jerking me around.I think your dealer is jerking you around.
My dad has been through about 5 dealers and they all yanked his chain along until he started talking to SRT directly. Each and every time, his order was basically BS. The dealer had no allocations or had already sold their only one and wasn't REALLY going to get another any time soon.
He HOPEFULLY, has lucked out as one of the original dealers he contacted called him up with their next car available and he got a VIN within days and has confirmed with SRT that it atleast belongs to the same dealer he is now dealing with. He was even able to confirm it is finished being built and awaiting to be placed on the train to Tennessee.
I wish you luck! I can't believe the underhandedness that comes with some of these dealers.
Good Morning,
I was jerked around by dealers throughout the entire process...right up to signing for the car. I did not pre-order, I searched the internet for dealers that had Hellcats ACTUALLY on the lot and asked if they were pre-sold or not, really on the lot or not, MSRP plus how much (or not), and finally found one in Orlando, FL. I got the "straight poop" over the phone about a negotiated price (the Hellcat had been sitting while four others sold...because it was Brite White), talked to the Sales Manager for re-confirmation of availability, sent them a copy of my Driver's License, registration for my trade and proof of insurance so they would hold the vehicle.
After a seven hour trip (one way)...THEN the negotiations started. They said they needed to make $10K on the deal. According to Chrysler reports I've read, they already make $5K if they sell MSRP...anyway, I got hammered, but with "respect", and closed the deal (1030 at night).
The moral of this slice of history is pre-orders probably will get you frustrated...if you really want one...you have to go find it; you will be glad you did. It is a treasure hunt with many false doors...stay engaged and ask the right people the right questions. If you are zeroing in on a color, remember others have too. This is one case where I took what I could get, it was originally not what I would have normally chosen, but after 30 seconds behind the wheel...IT JUST DIDN'T MATTER...
Hope this helps,

Yes it does help because it makes me realize I'm not willing to go through all that hassle and still pay over MSRP for a Hellcat and additionally compromise on the color and options I want plus the extra cost of travel and so on. There are too many other good options out there if I'm burning up to do something right now and can't wait.Good Morning,
