I've only had my Challenger out a few times this spring because the weather has been so lousy, but twice it's thrown an engine code and both times it's been the coolant code. I can easily enough use my Predator to clear the code, but was wondering why this is happening so often now. It has happened in the past, but usually only once or maybe on the rare occasion twice a summer. Was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and what they did about it. Thinking of possibly swapping out the 180 t-stat for the stock one. Glad I kept it!

This usually gets thrown with a 180 t/s in cold weather if you don't let the car warm up before you drive it. Once you crank it and move, it starts a timer for the coolant to get up to temp (at least that's what I understand). Could also be the t/s leaking by or stuck open.
