Hi newbie here (just got my challenger this weekend), so be nice!

I am looking to have a Passport 9500ci radar detector installed in my SRT8. My question is about putting the display in the empty tab, right next to the Homelink in the overhead console.

Does anyone know if there is anything behind that tab, that would prevent me from having the display unit installed in that spot?

Have others found better places to install the display unit on the 9500ci?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the Z! I have no idea on your question, but really want to see the answer as I'm having one installed as well and have been trying to figure out the best place for the remote.

Can't help you with your question, as I live in Virginia and Radar/Lazer detectors are illegal to operate.

But Welcome to ChallengerForumZ! Won't you go over to the Newbie Check-In section and introduce yourself and your Challenger for a warm and rousing welcome! :wavey:

Just my own two Abes. I had radar detectors when i was younger. I can honestly say i got pulled over more when i had them compared to not having one. False sense of security. For me anyways. Be careful out there.

I have always used them, they save you once or twice they pay for themselves. I drive the same with or without them so I have always had good ones. I currently have the 8500 QI which installs in the grill and has small control panel under the steering wheel. Would highly recommend.

I have the remote display in the front cubby? down low in front of the shifter. The detector can be dimmed at night and you will still see the remote lights down below the dash if you prefer.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think I am going to go with the Mirror Install from Radar-mirror.com.
